"Jeez girl. You'll be butchered by the time you close your eyes to sleep."

"By saying that, you have ruined my appetite," I leaned more into the seat with my arms crossed.

Currently, Yoko and I met up at Jericho to hang out at Weathervane which is a café and bakery. We were sitting in a booth, waiting patiently for our orders to be made.

"More food for me then," Yoko grinned happily.

"I take back what I said," my hunger approached once again.

My friend blew a raspberry before saying, "Whatever. Besides, I shall give you advice and suggest staying away from Wednesday. She seriously looks like the type of person you shouldn't mess around with. And if I were you, I'd be begging on my knees for Weems to room me with somebody else."

"Avoiding Wednesday would be difficult considering she is my roommate. Also, there's no way I would beg Principal Weems to switch Wednesday with someone else. It would make me feel bad and look like a total douche bag," I clearly clarified.

"I get where you're coming from. Maybe try being buddies with Wednesday one more time in order for her to not terminate you," Tanaka presented one last solution.

"If I end up dead, you're paying for my funeral," I joked around.

My vampiric companion held two thumbs up and replied with, "You got it girl."

Right as I rolled my eyes at Yoko, our drinks and pastries arrived at the table by a teen named Xavier Thorpe. We know the guy from school, but we don't hang out or talk to him.

"Here you guys go. Need anything else?" Xavier asked us politely.

"We're good. Thanks," Yoko responded for herself and I.

"No problem," Xavier gave us a small smile before returning back to the kitchen.

"I wonder what he and Bianca are up to these days," the bloodsucker thought as she chugged down half of her tea filled blood.

"They broke up two months ago," I nonchalantly told my best friend while taking a bite of my confetti cupcake.

"What?! How come I am barely hearing about this?" Tanaka exclaimed in shock.

"I thought I told you through text during summer break," I looked at my friend weirdly.

"Oh. I don't remember."

I rolled my eyes playfully at the girl before I reminded her again the situation between Xavier and Bianca. Afterwards, we moved on to a different topic until our food and drinks were finished. That was our cue to leave the coffee shop and head back to Nevermore Academy. We chatted more for a little bit on our way to campus up until Yoko and I arrived at Ophelia Hall. From there, we parted ways and went inside our designated rooms.

Inside the shared dorm was Wednesday sitting up straight on her desk. She had the typewriter resting on the table as her fingers tapped the keys continuously. My eyebrows creased at the sight of my roommate using a machine that hardly anyone uses these days. In my mind, that makes her even more weird than I thought.

Wednesday hasn't noticed me yet. However, Thing made sure she knew I appeared in the room once he tapped her on the shoulder and jumped off, landing on the table. The small teen turned around to get a quick glimpse of me before returning back to her typewriter.

She sarcastically muttered loud enough for me to hear, "Great. You're back."

"Yeah... I am. Did anything happen while I was gone?" I awkwardly interrogated the strange girl.
