I picked up the most beautiful and precious present I've ever seen in my entire lifetime

A glistening platinum necklace with a carefully crafted platinum lily with gorgeous diamonds and pearls embedded

I turned the lily pendant and looked at the carving behind

The sight brought a little smile to my lips

It's a 'K' engraved with the best calligraphy skills I've seen

"That's absolutely perfect Khun Samanun"

The polite elderly man in a black and grey luxury tux uniform praised the piece of jewelry I held in my hand

"It is indeed, this is absolutely perfect. An accessory meant for a queen"

The man nodded graciously in agreement

"Absolutely, Khun Samanun, I know by my experience that if it was designed by you, it would be absolutely flawless"

I nodded politely

"Thank you Mr Jacobs for the kind compliment. I have entrusted your company with the best workmanship I have ever seen"

He smiled and tapped his chin and thought for a second

"I still remember the day your mother came to pickup your first pair of earrings when you were born... forty years ago if my guess is correct"

I laughed out loud and looked at the bubbly old man with adoration

"What a memory you have Mr Jacobs. Yes, I'm turning forty soon. And my mother have always had the best taste in everything"

He smiled back at me with a fatherly smile

"You know Khun Samanun, when you laugh, you look just like your mother. She had that exact same laugh"

I nodded my head while looking back at the necklace and sighed

"Yes she did, she absolutely did"

He took the necklace and carefully placed it in the luxury grey and black jewelers box and started packing it

"Khun Samanun, when she receive this thoughtful gift, she will surely know how much you adore her like a queen"

I smiled and raised my eyebrows

"Yes, absolutely. She is my queen"

"It's always heartwarming to see someone who knows how to treat a woman right. It's very rare Khun Samanun, especially when it comes to powerful people, I'm very proud to know a person like you"

The statement hit my heart like a sharp double edged dagger

I sighed

"Yes Mr Jacobs, it's very rare. It wasn't easy to me at first, but I guess sometimes an unexpected person is supposed to appear in your life like a thundering storm and is destined to break you into a million pieces in order to rebuild you with with pure love and appreciation"

Mr Jacobs smiled while placing the beautifully wrapped box in the bag

"Yes indeed. I agree with you completely. I have been through the same process. She absolutely broke my messy self to pieces and made me a gentleman with her love."

I was amused by this new information

He continues

"I'm the luckiest man on earth because I get to go back to her everyday and get embraced by her innocent kind self. I knew that she was in it for real from the beginning because when we met I was not the most perfect person, but still she decided to take a chance with me. She was there when I was at my worst and now I get to be there for her and treat her like the queen she is"

His genuine wide smile was an evident expression of the love he secured for himself

I but my lower lip as I tried to smile

I took a deep breath in and responded

"Yes Mr Jacobs. You're a lucky man"

His wide grin slowly disappeared as his gaze travelled between my eyes

He sighed and looked at me in adoration

He leaned in and slowly placed one of his hands on my shoulder and gently squeezed it

"I'm sorry Khun Samanun, I got carried away with all the unwanted information"

I looked at him and shook my head

"No Mr Jacobs, it's absolutely fine. I loved hearing your story, it brings joy to me to see how people grow when they are in love"

He nodded and retracted his hand

"You will find her Khun Samanun, believe in yourself"

I scrunched my nose and squeezed shut my eyes for a second

"It's too late Mr Jacobs. I was just a bit too late. The only thing I wish on a daily basis is for me to go back in time and tell my younger self to not repeat the same mistake. I want to tell her that her instinct is correct and I want her to have a big leap of faith. I wish it was all a dream"

A tear escaped from my eye

"She taught me how to treat a queen right, but I didn't get a chance to treat her as one. How ironic is that?"

I sadly giggled and took a deep breath while standing

"Okay Mr Jacobs, I need to leave now. She must be waiting for me"

Mr Jacobs nodded and smiled

"You're a good person Khun Samanun. Don't ever forget that"

"I won't"

He walked over and opened the door of his office room and gave me a final greeting

"Please tell your little queen that I wished her a very happy birthday Khun Samanun"

"Thank you Mr Jacobs. Though Kath hates it when I go around calling her my little queen, she will always be my little queen. No matter how many birthdays pass"
