2:04 AM
Shotaro yawned as he trudged out of his connected bathroom, crawling back into his king bed in hopes of somehow falling asleep.
He'd been tossing and turning all night, steadily growing more frustrated the longer he stayed awake; something was preventing him from drifting to sleep.
Now, whatever it was had to have something to do with his mind. That was usually the case when he was up this late.
Only he didn't exactly know what could be plaguing his thoughts at that hour, at least not until his phone began pinging off the hook with text messages from God only knows who.
"Who the fuck...?" Shotaro groaned in annoyance, snatching the device from his nightstand, but his aura and attitude swiftly shifted when he saw your name followed by a location grace his screen.
He sat up in his bed and clicked on the shared location, only for the frown on his face to deepen once he noticed that the particular area was unfamiliar to him.
It wasn't near your place, nor was it around any other places Shotaro had been with you – that confused him since it was also the first time he'd heard from you in a few days, so he decided to call you, thinking that it could've been a mistake or misclick.
The phone rang and rang, and it rang straight to your voicemail.
That was unlike you...
Shotaro called you again, ending up with the same result.
His confusion grew to worry, and the longer he sat in his bed, the quicker that worry snowballed into anxiety as his mind seemingly leaped to the worst-case scenario.
Shotaro sprung from his mattress with his phone in hand, throwing on a loose hoodie with the other as he scrambled down the stairs to retrieve his car keys. It took less than five minutes for him to be out on the road, tires screeching and squealing against the concrete.
That had been the quickest response Shotaro had ever given to someone's help call in his life, but in his defense, it was you.
You were just a different case for him; it was more complex to explain than just stringing adjectives together like he'd been doing.
He felt...something there, but he couldn't tell if you did yet.
"Come on..." Shotaro's grip on his phone tightened the more he drove. He grew exasperated at his GPS's constant rerouting, leaving him grumbling behind the steering wheel.
He pulled up to a red light and waited, and his GPS soon settled on a specific route that would get him to his destination in less than ten minutes.
The light turned green, and Shotaro made a right, driving straight for another few minutes,
Then he made a left, continuing down for a block or two before turning right once again.
His head snapped to both sides as he was closing in on his destination in hopes of somehow finding you,
And his foot slammed on the brakes, nearly running over an object in the middle of the road. He'd seen a blur in his headlights, so he didn't know if it had been an animal or an actual inanimate object until he stepped out of the car.
