Galen is seen waking up from his bed in the same clothes he wore for Halloween. He saw El next to him still sleeping. He rubbed his eyes and started reminiscing about last night.
Last night
Galen walked into the cabin holding his head. He walked towards his and El's room before he heard a voice from behind him.
"Where were you!?"
"Hopper please not now."
"Not now my ass! Where were you!?"
"I was out trick-or-treating."
"Did anyone see you!"
"No, I had a mask on."
Hopper pinched his nose and sighed heavily. Galen on the other hand grabbed the handle on the door getting ready to open it. Before he could though Hopper spoke towards him again.
"Hey hey, we're not done here. Sit."
Galen walked over and sat on the couch and Hopper sat beside him. Hopper didn't know what to do in this situation, even though he had experienced a child he never dealt with someone like Galen. Galen was kinda in the same boat, he never really had someone to care about his safety this much, he had Karen but she wasn't this overprotective of him. The two sat in silence for a good two minutes before Hopper spoke.
"Look kid, I understand OK. I'm not your father and maybe to you, I'm just a cop keeping you in prison. But you have to understand that if somebody sees you or Eleven people, your family will get hurt."
"Yeah. Yeah, I understand. I'm sorry for leaving without permission, it'll never happen again."
"Good. You look shooked, did anything happen while you were gone."
Galen went quiet. He didn't know what happened to him it happened so fast yet time felt so slow. He took a deep breath before speaking.
"While I was out there, I was randomly transported to the upside down."
"What?"
"I don't know how it happened."
"What did you see?"
"It was some kind of black 8-legged mist or cloud, creature thing coming towards me."
Hopper leaned his head to the side. He remembered what Will's been saying in his episodes, he also started to remember the drawing that Joyce showed him. How did he know this though? Hopper stood up and looked down at the kid, he started wondering if Galen and the upside-down are connected in some way. Before either of them could process their thoughts El walked out of the room. When she saw Galen she ran to him and hugged him tight. Hopper looked at the two and started smiling. He didn't know why he just enjoyed seeing the two happy together. Galen looked at El and the two walked into their room.
Present
Galen turned around and saw Hopper open the door, at the time it caused El to wake up. Hopper and Galen looked at each other for a moment before Hopper spoke to the two kids.
"Rise and shine."
El turned the other way avoiding Hopper. Galen then turned to Hopper and then back to Eleven. He didn't wanna get into their little disagreement. Especially because he was going through his things at the moment.
"So that's it, huh? You're still not talking? All right. I guess me and Galen are just gonna have to, uh...enjoy this triple-decker Eggo extravaganza on our own. Come on Galen"
