Mystery Man (Damon x Reader)

Just a small town girl

Slowly your arms reach towards the roof of your isolated room as you take a deep breath ready for the first day of school. You check the time on your alarm clock that sits upon your beside table: 6:00am.

You slip on your grey, fluffy boot slippers as you carefully stand up, pick out a cute outfit and make your way into your bathroom.

Looking in the mirror, you brush your teeth and your soft brunette hair, creating a straight style. You turn the shower on, not too warm because of the weather and begin to take your clothes off.

[15 minutes later]

You climb out the shower with a eggshell white towel wrapped around your body and get dressed. For the first day of school you need a cute outfit: a f/c long sleeve, cropped top and some blue baggy jeans with a cute star belt.

As you place your pj's and towel into the wash basket, you make your way to your dressing table to turn on your hair dryer. Quickly, you blow dry your hair and apply some simple makeup: brow gel, blush and some mascara. Suddenly, you hear a car horn coming from outside, it was Caroline, your best friend.

You grab your bag and run downstairs to the front door.

'Bye Jer, bye Elena!' You shout to your two siblings who are either already at school or still asleep.

Opening the front door, you slide on your red Jordan's and hop into the front of Caroline's car.

'Hey care,' you say politely. 'Hey Y/N/N,' she replies. She puts on her sunglasses, looking hot as always, and sets off for first day of school.

You always went to school together on the first day, Jeremy is younger then you and Caroline so get to school on his own terms. Caroline and Bonnie are your best friends but Elena's too, you all got pretty close when you were younger. Elena is your (not fully identical) twin (and Jeremy is 2 years younger) but doesn't have many friends so hangs out with yours which you don't mind.

'Ok we're here, senior year finally.' Caroline says, clearly very confident. 'Feels like we've been waiting a lifetime,' you both chuckle.

You open the car door and step out to take in the sights of your school, new year, new start.

'Hey Y/N, how you doing?' Matt Donavon (Elena's ex boyfriend) strides up to you and Caroline. 'Yeah I'm ok, just tryna keep Elena and Jeremy safe that's all.'

[flashback]

It was the start of summer and your parents and Elena went out for the night whilst you looked after your little brother, Jeremy. Making Jeremy something to eat, you get a call from Elena.

'Y/N, please, you need to come to Wickery Bridge. It's an emergency,' she spoke, crying.

'I'll be back soon Jer, don't do anything stupid.' You ran out the door.

You arrived at Wickery Bridge, it was shrouded in police cars. Sheriff Forbes walked over to you, 'your sister is over there, you might wanna talk to her.' So, you walk over to Elena.

'What happened?'

'Mum, Dad. They- their, dead.'

Your heat crushed into pieces.

[present day]

'Ok well let me know if you need anything,' Matt smiles and walks alway.

You and Caroline stride into school to go meet Bonnie at your lockers. 'Hey!' You wave frantically at Bonnie. 'Hey, hey, hey!'

Bonnie wraps her arms round both you and Caroline as she excitedly mumbles 'I missed you guys so much, I've had the most amazing summer but I can't believe I wasn't able to spend it with you.'

'Us too!' You and Caroline both chuckle, almost sobbing.

'Oh, my, God.' Caroline acts like Janice from "friends".

You unlink your arms from Bonnie's and slowly look up in awe to see what Caroline was so siked about. The most hot, handsome guy walks past as if in slow motion. He's wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans and a sexy black leather jacket. You stare at him as he runs is fingers through his thick, gelled spiky brunette hair. He gives you a slight smile as he walks past and heads down the corridor.

Caroline breaks your fantasy, 'I call dibs!' You and Bonnie both chuckle. The bell rings, you shut your locker and split up from your two best-friends. You meet Elena down the corridor and head towards chemistry.

'What does Matt want?' You say to her, realising she was talking to her ex. 'Oh nothing, just the usual "I still want you", nothing new.'

Elena halts at the doorway to your Chemistry class. 'Oh my god.'

'I know, Care, Bonnie and I saw him earlier on the corridor. You should totally ask him out.'

'I haven't even met him yet but he is gorgeous.'

'I can already tell your falling for him.' You chuckle. You seem to have a sidekick sort of sense.

You both enter your classroom, you sit next to a football jerk called Tyler Lockwood leaving the only seat left for Elena as the one next to the new boy.

You overhear the first ever conversation between Elena and her soon to be boyfriend.

'Hey, I'm Stefan. Stefan Salvatore, looks like we'll be lab partners.'

Elena smiles and replies, 'I'm Elena, Elena Gilbert.'
