Sometimes, somethings aren't meant to be, while sometimes, somethings are meant to be. After a month of delay due to the fact my leg was still healing, Am sitting on my bed contemplating on what cloth I should wear as am beginning my first day at the university tomorrow. I would have preferred staying in the hostel to the hell hole but Huzaifa had bluntly rejected it when I brought it up. I also earned a slap. We are living in Asokoro and I felt it as stress, burden, and a waste of time and resources to be leaving Asokoro all the way to Jabi airport road cause am coming to school.
" Up till now, you haven't dress up." That's exactly Khaula's first words immediately she entered my room. I turned to her smiling. A smile that reached my eyes.
" Good morning am stuck at chosing between this peach abaya or pink." I pointed at the bed where my clothes lay flat like a lazy flat ass. She came forward raised each clothes inspecting them one by one. Placing them on my body like a designer testing her product on a model.
" Kai, Haba Mrs Huzaifa you want to wear this abaya to school. First impression last longer. You need to dress like the rich Hajiya you are now.Wait let me enter your closet first." She stood up with the two abayas in her hand and walked into the closet. Who does she thinks I want to impress.
" Khaula am not dressing to impress anybody don't bring any complicated cloth ooo cause me I will not wear something that will make me sweat." I called out immediately cause don't be surprise, Khaula can bring Cinderella's ball gown and say you should wear it. Khaula have weird taste of fashion and surprisingly no matter the attire the they fit her so well.
" Toh I have heard you. Hajiya simple cloth." She laughed. I could hear the scuffle she is having with the cloth. Nearly five minutes later, she stands before me with a torque blue abaya adorned with both stone and weaves. I didn't even remember I had something like this before. The design is so complicated and I remember I saw this saw Abaya on instagram and I think the price was 107k. I scrolled pass cause to me when am not crazy why would I use a 107k to get abaya, but guess who's is about to wear one. The weaves where handmade and made with delicate care and attention not the regular machine made weaves.
" Kai, Khaula but I told you I can't wear this clothes ai, this clothe is so complicated." I eyed the clothe in her hand like it's the cause of my misery. From the way she's holding it I don't need a soothsayer to tell me it's heavy.
" That one doesn't concern me. If I bring rag for you , you must wear it there's nothing bad about this clothe. Just trust this fashion designer.Please." Khaula and her doey eye look. Sometimes the way she act will make you think am the elder. I scrubbed my nose and look at the clothe in her hand. She kept blinking her eyes anytime I come in contact with hers. Well her doey eyes did the trick.
" Fine, it's not as if I have any choice." I grabbed the clothe from her hand while she giggles. Well definitely my intuition is never wrong, the clothe is light. I looked at the clothe in my hand and look at her. She is still there with her doey eyes peering at me as she kept blinking. Like seriously. We aren't of age group.
" Okay fine, stop looking at me like that I will go and try it on but if it's not what I am comfortable on I will change it period." I said sternly like am the elder one.
" You are gonna love it." She shouted behind me. I just ignored her and walked into the closet. My closet isn't a mess and I will give her the credit for that. I hate when my things gets messed up. I removed my bathing robe and hanged it on a hanger. Am already dressed in my inner wears so I just wore the abaya over my head an allowed it to fall freely covering my body.
