Chapter 1 (Narrator's POV) - This town is full of secrets
In the small town of Rosewood (just outside Pennsylvania), there were 6 girls who had everything. And I mean LITERALLY everything. Their parents somehow could afford to buy them Chanel handbags and Gucci sunglasses. But that doesn't surprise me, seeing as Rosewood is full of perfectly arranged, great, tall, rich, white mansions with their perfectly mowed, bright green lawns and somehow the sky was always perfectly blue. When you look at Rosewood from the outside, you only see perfection. But the thing is, you shouldn't assume that this neat little town was perfect as it had many flaws, and also many secrets. Secrets were what tore Rosewood apart and it's perfect reputation.
"I think you should look in the mirror, hun, you look like you've come out the nuthouse or something". Alison Dilaurentis was one of those girls who had what you would call 'power'.
She could give you a dirty look, just for a second! And after that she could destroy you. It's unbelievable I know, but it's true. She knew people, and she knew many secrets. She used her power to blackmail people, and with blackmail, there comes enemies. And she had an army of them. Alison knew everyone's secrets and insecurities and she used her 'power' to taunt them.
(Britney's POV)
"Alison, don't be so cruel!" said Britney, disgusted by what Alison had just said. "Oh, come on Brits, you can't seriously be defending loser Mona, can you? Don't get too angry, you might start to have another one" said Alison, winking, knowingly.
"Another one? What does she mean?" Hanna whispered to Aria. Britney ignored Alison as usual; she couldn't exactly retaliate without spilling everything to the rest of the girls, not without losing her best friend in the process.
Suddenly the bell rang, and it brought Britney back to her senses. "Gotta go guys, can't miss my English exam!" "Bye" said the girls, simultaneously.
By the time Britney got home it was about 4:00. When she got home, she went straight upstairs to take a quick shower as she went for a run that morning. She thought that she needed to get some exercise for the fun-run coming up. When she came out, she got changed into some black skinny jeans and a denim crop top. She threw on a pair of black ankle boots and a over-sized black hoodie. She grabbed her sunglasses and started packing for the sleepover the girls were having in Spencer's barn. As it was Friday night and traditionally they have sleepovers there. They started this tradition back in 6th grade...
(Flashback) "Hey, I'm Alison, you must be Britney right? I love your skirt, it's adorable!" "Thanks!" Britney said, still not quite believing that the one and only Alison Dilaurentis was talking to her, let alone noticed her, since no one ever does. "Why don't you come and sit with me and the girls at lunch?"
Her phone brought her back to reality, and she realized that it had been two years, almost 3 since she met Alison Dilaurentis. Her phone vibrated again and she picked it up off of her bed, she had one message. "Hey, bring alcohol, don't care what! - Ali".
Britney smiled. She replied "Definitely will, I'll steal a couple bottles from my parents wine cellar, see you there ;) - Brits".
Britney grabbed her stuff and put it into the car, and then she went back in, to help herself to the drinks for tonight. She locked her house, since no one else was home, her parents were never home, she was always alone, but Britney was used to it by now, only getting rare postcards or emails from her parents telling her where they were now and asking her how she was doing at school.
