There is a girl,
With vacant stares,
Who is dying inside,
But nobody cares.
A stranger comes up,
Asks, "Are you okay?"
She smiles, and nods,
Thinking the pain goes away.
She covers her skin up,
Wearing sleeves over her arms,
Not to make it so obvious,
That she brings herself to harm.
Her pain goes unnoticed,
So nobody can tell,
She looks like an angel,
But she's living through hell.
The girl's a good actor,
She says she's alright,
Even though in reality,
She's losing the fight.
A cut here,
A burn there,
And people think,
That her life is fair.
Her parents are split up,
Her heart is broken,
She's facing serious illness,
She can't show any emotion.
But who is this girl?
Does she live on my street?
I assure you she does,
She's closer than you think.
