Three Years Later

June 30th, 2023

Three years later Karleigh is now a mom to a beautiful little girl named Amelia Alyse-Burrow or Mia for short. She has her mom's natural brown hair and her dad's stunning blue eyes. As for Karleigh, the once tan-skinned, bleached blonde hair and skinny girl has now formed into a beautiful redhead with pale skin and a petite but curvy figure.

In the last three years, Karleigh has changed a lot. She made close friends who she now called family and she worked very hard to make a name for herself in the world of sports medicine. Along with her nursing degree, she spent the last few years learning and training in physical therapy. That combination of skill sets made her very desirable to be on the payroll of some big-name teams. Karleigh was content where she was but receiving many different job offers from NFL teams made her consider if her life could be improved by moving states away from where she now called home. She received a few offers from different teams but none were as enticing as the one she received from the Cincinnati Bengals... It was too good to turn down. She knew if she took this job she would have to face him again. The last time they spoke harsh words were exchanged and then all communication stopped. She desperately tried to reach him when she found out she was pregnant because it changed everything but by the time she knew he was gone she had no way to reach him or find him.

It was now the last day of June and she had to have all of her stuff out of the apartment. Thankfully she had a wonderful roommate Jane who she considered a sister. Jane was dropping everything to move with Karleigh and Mia to Cincinnati because in her words "you can not up and move my precious niece across the country and expect me not to follow." Jane adored Mia and took her role as Aunt very seriously, Karleigh always appreciated the help and support. They had gotten the last few boxes packed and in the U-Haul truck, they had rented to drive across the country. It was going to be a long drive but they prepared the best they could and booked hotel rooms along the way. Karleigh took one last look around the apartment they called home over the last three years, She stopped to remember all of the firsts Mia had in this apartment and she smiled. Shutting the door for the last time was a symbol of closing one chapter of her life to move on to the next. But was she moving on to a new chapter or visiting an old one?

July 2nd, 2023

They broke the 16-hour drive up over a couple of days just to make it easier since they were traveling with a 2-year-old. It took them most of the day to move in their belongings and they started to arrange the apartment just the way they wanted it. They were all worn out and soon fell asleep on the couch.
