Salaam.
Yup, here are some tips on how to survive ramadan in hot climates, I am in a hot climate at the moment. But next Ramadan, if I'm in ya know, somewhere selse, I may have some different tips, but anyways, enjoy, and read carefully!
1. Sehri ( pre meal)
Sehri is when you eat before the next day ya know? Okay, so at this time no one feels like eating, am I right? Or am I right? But trut me YOUR FAST DEPENDS ON YOUR PRE MEAL so sehri is VERY IMPORTANT. Ideal foods:
One glass of cold water (to prevent dehydration)
A plate of fruit. (Melons and water melons are best)
Juice (for sugar)
Bread (Carbohydrates)
These will get you through the day, no problem.
2. School
If you go to school in ramadan, like me, *sigh* try to wear LIGHT CLOTHES and LIGHT HIJABS, don't wear hijab caps, and try to go on a car/motorbike/bike/rickshaw (those are popular forms of transport in Asia)
3. Keeping Cool
Try cold showers and dipping your feet in ice water. If no time when doing whudu, use cold water and make sure to properly wash neck, feet and wrists as those are where your pulses are and if they are cold your body imeadietly cools down.
4. Rest and Sleep
Try to sleep and rest for most of the day as it burns less calories and prevents hunger.
5. Iftaar
At iftaar (breaking fast) time, do not drink ice cold water or drink fizzy as it shocks our kidneys, try a date or cold water.
Ramadan Mubarak!
Cherries, chocolate and strawberry cupcakes.
