Banditkit awoke to Stormkit stretching, the moss of the nest tickling her nose.
"Hmm?" Banditkit grunted, stretching.
"Shhh!" Stormkit hissed.
"Okay, I-" BanditKit was cut off by Bettastar
"Banditkit's awake?" Bettastar sped over to the nursery.
"No! She's not." Stormkit mewed, covering Banditkit's head with her tail.
"Don't play dumb, young Stormkit. She is awake, I can tell." She nudged Banditkit, urging her to get up from the nest.
"Good morning, Bettastar" Banditkit greeted her, grumbling.
"Good morning, Banditkit" Bettastar replied, nuzzling the kit.
"Come along, let's get you some prey before you leave." Bettastar purred.
"Banditkit..?" Stormkit mumbled.
"Hm?"
"When you leave... Will we ever see eachother again?" She asked, sighing.
"Maybe on patrols or at gatherings.." BanditKit replied, hope and sympathy in her voice.
"Hopefully.." Stormkit nuzzled Banditkit.
"Hopefully.." Banditkit repeated.
The two she-cats nuzzle each other. Padding over to Bettastar, Banditkit heaving her way painfully, her scars stinging. That's the moment she realized see couldn't see out of one of her eyes, Bearslash had half blinded her!
Banditkit sat down for a moment, hyperventilating. Reimagining everything, the tears forming in her eyes. Shining like a diamond.
"Banditkit!" Bettastar called, realizing what was going on. "What's wrong?" she meowed, approaching her slowly.
"Don't get near me!" She hissed, still having flashbacks to the night before.
"Banditkit, tell me, what's wrong." Bettastar begged.
"The bloodshed, the spite, the anger, the regret, the smell of death. And another thing to deal with?" Banditkit mewed, staring at the ground, terrified. She was shaking of fear and her scars ached. How could she walk such lengths after something so big?
"Banditkit, that doesn't answer my question. So please, what's wrong?" She sighed
"I can't see out of my right eye!" She yowled, sobbing. Snapping out of it.
Banditkit leaned against the she-cat. Trying to catch her breath, how could such a cat destroy her whole future, her whole life?
"Banditkit?" Bettastar purred.
"Mhm?" Banditkit looked up at the she-cat, immediately breaking eye contact.
"We have decided that Raccoonpelt is going to take you to Windclan!" Bettastar exclaimed as she licked BanditKit behind her ear.
"Okay..." Banditkit mumbled, looking back down at the ground.
"Alright, Banditkit, it is time for you to go to Windclan..." Streamheart popped into the conversation.
"But I'm not ready..." Banditkit mewed, tears forming in her eyes.
"Trust me, it'll be better once you get to Windclan, and maybe one day you'll return here!" Bettastar purred. She set Banditkit down in the clearing, calling the clan for a meeting.
"As almost all cats of Riverclan are aware, something or somebody attacked Banditkit and Fogleap. Leaving Fogleap dead and Banditkit severely wounded and traumatized. Since the attacker is unknown and we currently have no nursing queens we are moving Banditkit to Windclan." She meowed
"Racconpelt, step forward" Bettastar meowed, looking at Streamheart.
Racconpelt stepped forward, terrified of any accusations of the murder.
"Racconpelt, you are going to take BanditKit to Windclan." Streamheart meowed, his fur blowing majestically in the wind.
"Banditkit, Banditkit" Her clanmates yowled as a final goodbye.
"Farewell, Banditkit. Remember to follow Silverpelt for guidance, a noble warrior knows that. May Starclan light your path beyond here." She meowed gracefully.
"Goodbye!" Streamheart mewed.
Stormkit carefully approached Banditkit. "Farewell, I'll see you around..." Stormkit mewed softly as she nuzzled Banditkit.
"Well Banditkit, follow me" Racconpelt ordered. Refusing to hold the kit because of her injuries around her neck.
"Okay." Banditkit limped after the tom hastily, not wanting to get lost or left behind.
Banditkit collapsed on the ground, her paws ached.
"Racconpelt, can we please get some rest for a bit?"
"No, sorry but it's not safe here whatsoever; twolegs could snatch us up at any moment here, I am sorry.."
Banditkit heaved her way back up, limping. Her eyes showing every emotion she's feeling.
Banditkit began to get dizzy, seeing occasional black dots in her vision. This time instead of jumping around happily and chasing butterflies she walked, and walked, and walked. Her eye bags weighing her down.
Banditkit collapsed again, falling unconscious. Next thing she knew Raccoonpelt was carrying her, and they were nearly at Windclan camp.
"You're awake!" He mewed happily.
"What happened?" Banditkit groaned, sitting down and scratching her head.
"Your paw pads are severely scratched up which caused you to collapse and you fell so hard you got knocked unconscious." he replied.
"Oh" she looked behind her, embarrassed.
The tom nudged her, encouraging her to enter Windclan camp.
"Hello Racconpelt, Banditkit!" Tidestar mewed happily.
"Hello..." Banditkit mewed, licking her torn, scratched paw pads.
Racconpelt walked off, meanwhile Tidestar introduced the young kit to the clan.
"Before we do anything else how about we treat those paw pads before infection, how do you feel about that?" She asked.
Banditkit nodded, sighing.
