[Brunhilde's Quarters]

Y/n: *ahem* So, where was I again? Ah! Oh yeah, that – You jump off Brunhilde's bed – So... Are we pretending that we don't know that this Ragnarök thing is actually impossible...? You know, humans can't really harm gods at all and- Yeah.

Brunhilde doesn't stop navigating through the screen, and opens up a picture portraying herself and 12 other girls including Göll

She turns to you

Brunhilde: Human means cannot harm gods, true – She opens her arms – This whole tournament is technically impossible because of this fact, this damn cheat would be a great problem, if us Valkyries didn't have our own little trick... The völundr!

Both you and Göll listen intently to her explanation

Throughout history, numerous tales about legendary warriors have been told

Many of them share a common trait

Legendary Weapons

From King Arthur's Excalibur to Cúchulainn's Gáe Bolg, I have studied their origins...

Looked for parallels...

And ways to replicate their extraordinary powers in a way to enable them to harm the divine

Then, I understood it all:

The lady of the lake stood by Arthur side after giving him the Excalibur, even risking herself when rescuing him and bringing him to Avalon when he was covered in injuries

Likewise, Scáthach gave the Gàe Bolg to Cúchulainn after training him in all arts of war

However, those women were not humans.

Turns out, the lady of the lake was a fae and Scáthach a demigodess, both performed völundr to forge said weapons

That's where we, the Valkyries, come in

We are intrinsically connected to humanity, our link to humanity is far greater than to the gods

So I have learned of the "Shared Fate"

When a higher being is on the same wavelength with a human, they can pledge loyalty to each other, turning the divine being into a divine weapon, and amplifying the human warrior's capabilities, at the cost of linking their souls

So if the human, or Einherjar if you will, dies, the Valkyrie is gone too

And when you die in Valhalla...

THERE IS NO
TURNING BACK
