TREMBLING, she was trembling with fury as she watched her father slice his palm before handing the glass to the princess; is this what betrayal felt like? she wondered, her hands clenching into fists as she stood at the back of the mixed group of children.

three bastards and three true-borns, the thought left a bitter taste between her lips, her eyes narrowing upon the brown hair and plain features of the boys, in contrast to her black and white hair and her violet eyes of her father while the warm tree bark brown of her sisters was that of her mothers.

had he even asked what they had thought? They lost their mother less than a moon ago. Elaena questioned herself, rolling her lips between her teeth as they now split each other's lips with the shard, it was beautiful yes; but not ideal.

her uncle had somehow died, her mother also dead, and now her father was marrying his niece and bringing them to Dragonstone to live for as long as he so wished.

the ceremony ended with a passionate kiss, and as they parted, a loud scoff had escaped her lips. turning upon her heeled boots, she walked away with disgust crawling her skin and fury boiling her blood, the calls of her sisters and father went unheard.

Elaena hadn't a clue as to where she was trekking, she hadn't cared either; she had to get away from her father, from the princess and her kids. or should she say, stepmother and step-brothers? the thought irked her very core.

her surroundings began to get more green, as charred trees filled her blurry vision. since when had she begun to tear up? She scoffed again, yet it sounded more of a sob than a scoff, her violet eyes trailing above her to the darkening sky.

the stars were beautiful that night.

perhaps her mother was looking upon her, leading her upon a path she hadn't thought to take? Doubtful, she's dead. Elaena harshly reminded herself, and as quickly as the sky had dimmed, it had darkened completely rendering her almost blind within the night with only her other senses to rely on.

tears began to stroll thickly down her cheeks, Elaena hadn't known the reason why, was she sad? no, she was furious! Disgusted, even. perhaps, she was sad. emotions were so confusing to the girl, Elaena realized as she sat by a small pond-like lake, the running water soothing to her ears.

the tears were falling faster, she quickly realized as she stubbornly tried to hold them back. her mother's voice chiding her softly; allow them to fall, you are not weak. you are human.

with that, sobs followed.

they wracked her body viciously, escaping the binds she had the sadness so tightly wrapped in; covering it with anger yet she couldn't find it in herself to withhold and smother much longer as her eyes burned horribly.
