The soft morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm, golden glow across our bedroom. I stirred awake, my senses slowly coming to life. As I blinked away sleep, I realized I wasn't alone in the bed. Alessa lay beside me, her dark hair splayed across the pillow, her lips parted.
I couldn't help but smile as I reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair from Alessa's face. Her skin was soft beneath my fingertips.
Alessa stirred, her eyelashes fluttering as she woke. Her violet eyes met mine, and a soft, drowsy smile played on her lips. "Morning," she whispered, her voice still heavy with sleep.
"Morning, love," I replied, giving her a lazy smile back.
Alessa stretched and her body shifting closer to mine as she yawned. I put my hands on her back tracing circles on her back with my thumb, "Did you sleep well?" I asked, my voice a soft murmur.
She nodded, her eyes still half-lidded with sleep. "Mmm, like a baby, What about you?"
"Same here," I admitted, my gaze locked on her. "I don't think I've slept this peacefully in years."
Alessa's smile widened, and she shifted closer to me. "This feels nice, " She nestled her head against my chest and I tightened my hold on her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
"It does," I agreed.
Just as we were settling into this peaceful moment, the door burst open, and Nico bounded into the room.
"Dada! Mama!" he exclaimed, leaping onto the bed with all the enthusiasm a child could muster in the morning.
Alessa and I both laughed as Nico jumped between us, his laughter infectious. "Good morning, buddy," I said, ruffling his hair affectionately.
Nico's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Can we go to the park today?"
I exchanged a glance with Alessa, and she nodded at me, "Absolutely," I replied. "Get changed, and we'll head to the park right after breakfast."
With a bright smile, Nico scrambled off the bed and went into his room to get ready for the park.
I ran across the park, my small sneakers kicking up sand as I played with my toy truck. The park was always so much fun, but today was even better because Dada and Mama were here with me.
As I pushed the truck through the sand, I noticed a girl sitting alone on one of the benches. She looked sad and I wondered why she was alone.
I left my truck behind and made my way to her. She looked up when she heard my footsteps, and her blue eyes met mine.
She had pretty blue eyes, just like the sky.
"Hi," I said giving her a small smile.
"Hello," she replied shyly, giving me a small smile back.
I decided to sit beside her on the bench. "Why are you alone?"
She shrugged, her tiny shoulders lifting and falling. "I don't have many fwiends. I just moved here."
I nodded, "I don't have many friends here either. But that's okay. We can be friends, right?"
She looked at me with those pretty blue eyes, and her face brightened. "Fwiends?"
I grinned, feeling happy that I could make a new friend. "Yep, friends"
"I'm Nico," I said, pointing to myself, "and you?"
She blinked, as if thinking. "Lilith."
I couldn't help but giggle. "You have a really pretty name, Lilith." Her cheeks turned an even deeper shade of rosy pink at the compliment.
Lilith smiled, revealing a gap where a baby tooth was missing. "Thank you, Nico."
"Do you wanna play with my truck? It's super cool," I continued, my excitement bubbling over. She nodded, still a bit shy but clearly eager to play.
Lilith's shyness seemed to melt away as we started playing together. We pushed the toy trucks through the sand.
As we played, I couldn't help but steal glances at Lilith. She was so pretty and I liked her, not just because she was pretty. She was nice and fun to be around.
Time seemed to fly by, and soon, Dada and Mama came over to us. Mama smiled warmly at Lilith, and Dada ruffled my hair.
"Having fun, buddy?" he asked.
I nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, Dada, Lilith's my new friend!"
Dada and Mama exchanged glances, and I could tell they were happy for me. "That's great, Nico," Dada said.
Mama knelt down to Lilith's eye level. "Hi, sweetheart. I'm Alessa, and this is Ace."
Lilith smiled shyly. "Hi."
Mama was really nice to Lilith, and Dada even offered her some snacks. It was nice that they were both so friendly to my new friend.

The sun was setting and it was time to go home. I noticed a hint of sadness in Lilith's eyes when I mentioned leaving, and it made me sad. I didn't want her to be sad.
"Wait," I said, my eyes lighting up as I remembered something. I reached into my little backpack and pulled out my stuffed bunny. "This is Bunny. You can borrow him until we meet again someday. He always helps me when I'm sad, and I was hoping that..."
Her eyes widened in surprise as she took Bunny, hugging the stuffed bunny tightly. "Thank you, Nico!"
I beamed, my heart swelling with happiness. "You're welcome, new friend. We'll see each other again soon, okay?"
As I turned to leave and rejoin Dada and Mama, she stopped me. With a shy smile, she handed me a doll, saying, "This is Dolly, for you, Nico."
She kissed my cheek and ran away. A warm blush crept across my cheeks. Lilith was so nice.
