Recap:
"How could you even think of taking your own life, Asmaara?" he questioned, the tone unyielding. His hand tightened around hers, and the weight of his words settled heavily upon her shoulders.
...
Armaan buried his face in Asmaara's neck, his voice trembling with emotion as he said, "You can't escape so easily, Asmaara. I'll ensure you face the consequences of your actions. You'll have to make amends for your betrayal."
His grip on her hands tightened, and the room was filled with the sound of the bride's quiet sobs. She spoke in a trembling voice, "Why me, Armaan? What have I done? You keep hurting me. Why can't you just leave me alone?"
Armaan slowly released her trembling hands, his bloodshot eyes bore into her with a mix of anger and anguish. In a hushed yet intense voice, he began, "You want to know what you've done? Let me paint the picture for you. I married you because of Jashn."
"That idiot has been head over heels for you since forever. The moment he heard that your father was seeking a marriage alliance for you, Jashn wasted no time and sent a marriage proposal in your direction. Can you fathom how deeply he cared for you?"
The room seemed to grow colder, the air thick with tension as Armaan continued, his voice quivering with a painful honesty, "But I couldn't stand by and let you hurt my younger brother the way you've hurt me. Deep down, we all know what you're capable of; you're like a snake, ready to devour my brother's innocence."
"I couldn't bear to watch another innocent life be ensnared by your treacherous ways when I knew your true nature. I had to intervene, to protect my brother from the same heartbreak and suffering you've caused me."
Asmaara's heart raced as the full weight of Armaan's revelation settled in. The room hung in a suffocating silence, and the question lingered like an unspoken truth: Jashn?
How could Jashn love her? Why didn't he ever tell her? It must be a misunderstanding' he always saw her as a younger sister. Was he the reason that her life is tangled with this monster now? What more dark secrets are hidden from her and what consequences would they bring?
