Hailee's View

"Hailee, I have the deal of a lifetime for you." Cindy says.

"Okay." I say.

"I'm friends with another manager and his client is going on a world tour very soon. They need an opener for their US dates and I suggested you." Cindy says.

"Who's the client?" I ask.

"5StarY/n." Cindy says.

"Oh hell no!" I say.

"Oh c'mon! The money is great, some tickets are going for over 800 bucks." Cindy says.

"If you think I'm traveling the country with that woman, you've lost your mind!" I say.

5StarY/n is an artist who's been around for well over a decade and I don't like her.

In 2021, Y/n and I released a song in the same week and they were battling for a #1 debut. I got the #1 and kept it for 5 weeks. Apparently that hurt Y/n's ego and she threw shade at me.

So I called Y/n chart-obsessed and she called me a bitch on Twitter. Ever since then, it's been nonstop arguments on Twitter, fandom wars, and teasing each other. All over chart I literally don't care about.

"I would rather jump off a bridge than open for her. And I'm sure she'd like it if I did that." I say.

"I'm asking you to put your differences aside because this will be a payday that will set you up for generations." Cindy says.

"I don't care about how much-" I say.

"25 million dollars." Cindy says.

"Huh?" I ask.

"25 million dollars is how much the offer is for. This tour is gonna do billions in revenue. You will be 25 million dollars richer once the tour is completed." Cindy says.

"Ugh, fine. Go ahead and print the contract." I say.

Cindy smiles and nods.

Y/n's View

"I reached out to your good friend Hayley to open for you." Ethan says.

"Hayley Kiyoko?" I ask.

"No, Steinfeld." Ethan says.

"What?!" I ask.

"You said she was my good friend!" I say.

"I just said that to soften the blow." Ethan says.

"Hell no!" I say.

"Y/n, imagine how many more tickets you're gonna sale if the woman you have beef with opens for you!" Ethan says.

"I'm not paying her 25 million bucks. I'd rather pay a clown 25 million to open for me with clown music playing in the background. Oh wait, I already am!" I say.

Ethan's phone rings and he answers it.

"Hey. Oh, really? Okay, just fax it over. Alright, bye." Ethan says.

Ethan hangs up and puts his phone back down.

"She already signed the contract." Ethan says.

"Why the fuck would you send it to her without asking me first?!" I shout.

"After this tour, you're fired." I say.

"Oh, c'mon." Ethan says as I get up.

"I mean it!" I shout walking out.

Ethan is making me meet Hailee that way we can settle everything before I'm forced to travel the country with her.

"There she is!" Ethan says as the door closes behind me.

I sit down and Hailee stares at me.

"What'd you say?" Hailee asks as I mumble.

"Nothing." I say.

"It sounded like you said something." Hailee says.

"Guys-" Cindy says.

"I didn't say anything about you. You don't have to make everything about you." I say.

"You should take your own advice." Hailee says.

"I'm not about to entertain you." I say.

"Can we just focus?!" Cindy asks.

"We need to go over some things for the tour." Ethan says.

"How about I buy her out of the contract so we don't have to do any of that?" I ask.

"Money won't solve your problems." Hailee says.

"How would you know? You don't have any!" I say.

"You got sued for 5 million 3 months ago, you clearly don't either." Hailee says.

"Wow, you are so broke that you think 5 million is a lot of money. I wonder how much you think 300 million is." I say.

"300 million dollars?! Why don't you use some of that money to buy yourself a number one since you can't get it legitimately?" Hailee asks.

I shout and leave.

I unlock the door and go inside. Tucker gets off the couch and runs over to me.

"Hey, kid." I say as Tucker hugs me.

"He give you any trouble?" I ask as Callie walks over to me.

"Never, he's a good kid." Callie says.

4 years ago someone dropped a sick newborn off on my doorstep and I didn't know what to do with him. I ended up adopting him and he's been my son ever since.

I never have time for him so I had to find him a babysitter. 5 NDAs and 3 contracts later, I hired the teenager next door to babysit him. Whenever I go on tour, he stays with my uncle.

I take my wallet out of my pocket and pull money out.

"Feeling generous today." I say handing her money.

"Thank you." Callie says.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Tucker." Callie says.

Tucker waves and Callie leaves. Tucker giggles and I raise an eyebrow.

"What?" I ask.

"Callie is so pretty." Tucker says.

"Oh." I say.

"She's too old for you, kid. Sorry." I say.

Tucker groans and I pat him on the back.
