LUFFY TILTS his head slightly as he stared at you, your eyes widen slightly at the words luffy uttered.
you didn't know how to respond, you cheeks flushed slightly "y/n—"
"Y/n-Chan~ lunch is ready!" Sanji sang as he made his way over to both of you, you swallowed thickly and turned to sanji "thank you sanji-kun" you replied with a slight smile
sanji smiled widely as he spun around , Luffy ran off to the kitchen with a smile at the sound of lunch.
Sanji snapped out of his trance and ran after luffy yelling that he shouldn't eat your food.
you exhaled and made your way to the kitchen, gently rubbing the back of your neck.
luffy's question caught you off guard, yet it was really embarrassing that he said it so casually, everytime his words rang in your head your cheeks flushed.
you took a seat next to luffy as sanji placed your dish down, whilst he threw the boys theirs.
your head lowered as you are silently, which wasn't normal as you'd always start a conversation.
nami glanced at you silently, she turns to zoro and Robin sharing a confused eye contact; the two shrugged.
"so?" luffy spoke, you swallowed thickly as everyone gazed at both of you.
"i don't know what you're talking about luffy .."
the raven haired captain frowned slightly "it's just a simple question y/n." you picked at your food ".. luffy it's — it's an embarrassing one.."
his frown deepened as the others stared in confusion ".. you don't wanna marry me?"
the sadness in his voice caused your heart to crack, the crew's eyes widened at luffy's words "i — i never said that."
luffy stood up from his seat, his plate only half eaten " it seems like you're implying it.." he said softly and walked out the door
you placed your face in your palm before standing up and followed after luffy.
"Luffy!" you yelled as he stood on the head of sunny, his gaze set on the fishes that Swam by the coated ship.
"are you — are you gonna break up with me now?" he asked softly, his face facing you as he stared at the ocean before him.
you bit your inner cheek as you walked closer to him "no why would i do that?" you asked
"because you don't wanna marry me .. why?"
"luffy i never said i didn't wanna marry you , it's just — it was just so sudden and it make me nervous.."
"why — why did you ask me to marry you?.."
"when we got separated at sabaody i thought — i thought I'd never see any of you again , i through i lost you forever... then at marineford when i lost ace... it felt like i lost everything; then when i found out you're all somewhere out there , i made a promise to myself that I'd never let you go again ; that I'll marry you"
you felt your heart squeeze at his words, you stood directly behind him "luffy .. please look at him"
luffy slowly turned around , your heart clenched at the sight of luffy.
tears slowly flowing down his cheeks as he stared at you "luffy..."
"I don't want to lose you again y/n.."
you wrapped your arms around his waist and buried your face into his chest "i don't want to lose you either luffy .. I'll marry you"
luffy shook his head "you don't have to if you don't want to y/n — I'm fine."
you glanced up at him with teary eyes "i want to , i was just shocked early... i love you luffy."
luffy used his thumb to wipe away your tears and smiled at you "i love you too y/n."
