The machine on the side started making some sounds.
I woke up to the alarming sounds.
Still half asleep... I didn't understand what to do
I pressed the bell that would call the nurse...
Rayan was still asleep... He won't wake up
Scared .... Thinking something might happen to him...
I ran outside not understanding what to do.
"Doctor.... Doctor.." I called running through the corridors madly
I went towards the reception area and almost shouted.
"Where is the doctor...??? Call him..
My-....
My hus.."
I couldn't form the words...
"MY HUSBAND... "I shouted
The nurse understood and called for the doctor immediately.
We hurriedly went back to Rayan .
I was asked to wait outside while they checked on him.
I called my mom, his mom , his sister and everyone else.
I was really scared... Almost losing my hope...
But I knew my Allah won't put me through something that I couldn't handle.
He won't burden me beyond my limits .
I made my wudhu and went to the prayer room .
I offered two units of salah and prayed for him... So long that I almost lost track of time.
I really need sabr.
I keep having this feeling of despair ...
I hear the door open and I get up and go towards his room.
I see the doctor talking to my parents and hear his last few words..
"His condition keeps getting worse... I'm sorry"
I feel like something shattered.. In my heart.
Something valueable...was broken.
Allahu Akbar.

Mahnoor watches how fast Aman turned back when he saw her .
He almost became still like a statue.
He was asking for permission to look at his own wife.
She found that really adorable and funny .
Aman turned back once she asked him to help her while still keeping his eyes on the floor.
"Come here" says Mahnoor
"Huh... Me.. ??" Aman asks
"Ofcourse you... Who else is here Aman?" She asks him
He moves towards her slowly.
She asks him again to help with her earring that was stuck .
" L- let me... " he says and gets the earring out .
He was still standing really close to her.
A single, lone tear slipped out of his eyes.
Mahnoor was shocked.
"S... Sorry" he said turning around.
The same Aman, who is always laughing..
He is crying....
Shouldn't it be the other way around?? She thinks to herself.
But why?? Why is he crying??
She goes towards him...
"Aman... "
No reply
"Aman.."
She says going infront of him this time.
She wipes his tears asking " what happened?"
He looks towards her with watery eyes for a brief moment and then hugs her tightly.
She almost gets crushed in his arms.
"Aman... What happened?" She asks again whispering
He deepens the hug...
He was quiet for sometime... And finally decides to speak..
"Sorry Noor... I am sorry...
I...
I am the reason for Rayan's condition ...
He is in this condition because he tried to save me..
What should I do???
What do I do?? He is my brother...
What do I do Noor?"
He says breaking the hug and covering his face in his hands ....
Still sobbing ...
The tears still flowing down his face...
