Chapter Eight, I adore you.
TIA HARPER
OKAY - CHASE ATLANTIC
I woke up in the morning feeling something close to my head. To my surprise I found Chris asleep, still cuddled around my body with his hands in my hair and my body snuggled in-between his legs. His breath was warm and heavy, the slow rise and fall of his chest enough to prove that he was in a deep sleep.
My stomach was rumbling and my head throbbed, but I knew that Chris was a heavy sleeper so I rolled off him as slowly and carefully as I could so as not to wake him up. I tiptoed past him until I reached the kitchen and then crept over to the fridge.I opened it, the cold air rushing out, and found a bottle of water and some leftovers, though it wasn't anything I would usually choose to eat.
As I was pouring some cereal onto a bowl, I felt a pair of hands curl around my waist. His warm hands were so strong and pulled me close to him, and before long I felt a kiss placed against my cheek. I looked up to see Chris staring down at me, a roguish smile on his face as he said,"Morning, beautiful."
My cheeks heated up and I couldn't help but return his smile.'Good morning, pretty boy,' I said teasingly.
He blushed and his smile only widened, before he inclined and placed his lips on mine. I gasped in pleasure as his hand tightened around my waist and I felt his morning voice, hotter than I ever imagined it to be, deep in my soul.
The kiss felt like it lasted forever, and I never wanted it to end. Eventually, he stood back and ran his hand up my arm and my hair.
"I love you," he said, taking my breath away as I looked back into his eyes.
'I love you too,' I replied, leaning in for another lingering kiss. It was hot, passionate and full of sparkles. I stopped and backed away, but both of us still entwined in the moment.
Chris smiled at me, and I felt my knees tremble as our eyes met. I took a long drink from my bottle of water, not even noticing I spilled the water on myself and I was soaking wet and that it revealed a bit more than I had intended.
Chris and I seemed to understand the effect our proximity had on the both of us, and the knowledge made it almost unbearable for me to stay close.
When I turned back to Chris, he had a mischievous glint in his eye and he quickly moved towards me, picking me up and running over to the couch.
I had no time to protest, but I knew where this was going and allowed myself to relax into Chris's embrace. Our bodies were so close, it felt like the heat was radiating off us as one, and I could feel myself slowly slipping away into his arms.
Suddenly, Chris pulled back and flashed me the most loving smile I had ever seen. He whispered to me about making me breakfast, and I watched mesmerised as he walked back towards the kitchen. His beautiful, strong body moved with grace, and I almost forgot I was still on the couch until I heard several loud thumps coming from the kitchen. I laughed, my eyes never leaving him.
Chris returned shortly after, carrying a tray full of the most delicious breakfast I had ever seen. He placed it on the table and then sat down beside me, his hand moving slowly up my thigh as he took his spot on the couch. We were so close now, I could feel my heart beating in my chest and our gazes locked and never wavered.
The intensity of the moment was palpable, my lips begging for a kiss while his eyes still smouldered. I wanted to take him in that moment, but I knew I had to be patient. Chris smiled and leaned in, our noses touching as he whispered how much he loved me.The only thing that could compete with the sound of his voice was the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs, until Matt peeped over the couch, speaking in his sleepy voice.
