Too Far

Chapter Two

Kim sighed in irritation as she watched Rachel walk away.

Rachel had every right to be angry with her about Max. She'd been blinded by him completely. And now he'd hurt her friend, and she'd lost her.

Why had she fallen for Max Tyler?

"Kim, I need to speak to you"

Kim turned around, looking at the man she no longer had any respect for. She glared at him.

"Now isn't the time, Max" she spat, walking out of the office and into the corridor

Max followed her

"Kim, please! I just want to explain!" He pleaded

Kim turned to face him

"Ok. Then explain this to me. Why has Rachel just gone home bleeding? I left you alone with her, I come back after clearing my head, and she's got a cut on her forehead that wasn't there before, she's shaken and in pain, and you're nowhere to be seen! Explain that to me, Max!" Kim demanded angrily

"I don't know what you're talking about Kim, I really don't! I followed you straight after you left!" He shrugged

"No, you didn't! Did you hit her?" She asked

"Of course I didn't! I can't believe you think I'd do that Kim!" Max scoffed

"Then what happened, Max? Something did, and you're going to tell me exactly what happened, even if we have to stand here all night!" Kim argued

"For god sake Kim, it was self defence! We got into a heated argument and she lunged for me! What was I supposed to do? Sit back and let her attack me?" Max argued, exasperated

"So you did hit her?" Kim shot back

"No! Alright, I pushed her, but she deserved it! She had no right interfering in our relationship like that! Can't you see what she's doing? She wants to split us up!"

"I cant believe you! She had every right to interfere, Max! What were you going to do? Wait till we were walking down the aisle together to tell me that you're still married? How can you lash out at a colleague like that! Rachel is pregnant for crying out loud! She could lose her baby!" Kim exclaimed angrily

"So what, Kim? I don't give a damn about Rachel Mason! She doesn't deserve to run this school, I do! You and me" he snapped

"Yeah? Well, too bad for you then, you've lost it all now. I hope it was worth it!" Kim spat

"Where are you going?" He asked

"I'm going after Rachel! Someone has to be there for her!"

Kim stormed out of the school and into the car park, looking around for Rachel's car. She sighed, realising she'd already left. But she wasn't giving up, she wanted to be there for her friend, to apologise.

She got into her own car, driving in the direction of Rachel's home.
