It was an average Friday night for the Clifford family. All the Cliffords had gathered- yet again - at Luke's house for dinner. For Luke the plus side was that for two hours, his mom would be off his back about homework. His mom would always be too busy cooking or herding his younger cousins to notice him. Plus, Luke's step-cousin, Emma, would come to the dinner and he wanted to get in her pants.

At the moment, Luke was laying on his bed and texting Calum. Luke didn't know if he would consider him a real friend because Calum was quite the asshole, but he threw the best parties. He was having one this weekend since his parents were leaving town for the weekend. Calum usually put Luke in charge of inviting people since every hot girl thought Luke was tall, blonde, and gorgeous.

Luke internally groaned. He knew that he regret asking Calum, but he did it anyways. He really liked Emma and maybe wanted more than just a good fuck from her. She was smart and kind and pretty and sang well and was just perfect to Luke. There was no chance she'd like him. Besides, they were family. Calum just completely embarrassed Luke. He decided not to text his friend back.

There was a knock at Luke's door. He didn't even look over. A minute passed, maybe five more. The person at the door cleared their throat and began to speak, "Um... Luke, dinner is ready. Your mum said to come down... Everyone's waiting on you." Emma awkwardly scratched her neck and waited for a response.

"Yeah I'll be down in a minute," Luke stuttered. How could he be so dumb. He probably made Emma think that he was a freak. Quickly, Luke grabbed his phone and stumbled down the stairs. His entire family was already seated at the table set in the dining room.

Michael chuckled at the sight of his great-grandson's late entrance. He'd been feeling down since his best mate Luke had passed away and seeing his great-grandson with the same name made him smile. The two Lukes had shared more than a name, they both had the same blonde hair, blue eyes, and the two of them were also socially inept.

From the corner of the dining room, Liz stood glaring at Luke. She felt such great embarrassment from her son's late entrance. He lived here and he was the last to come. In her head, she began prepping a lecture to give Luke later.

"Have a seat Luke," Ryan said. He was Luke's uncle and Emma's step-dad. Luke looked at the table. The only open seat was next to the two people he didn't want to sit by. Grudgingly he went and sat in-between his twin cousins Brad and Lee. They were barely twelve and massive trouble. Dinner would be hell tonight.
