The night was filled with laughter, clinking glasses, and lively conversations as the editors gathered to celebrate another successful day at the book fair. The venue was beautifully decorated, with soft lighting casting a warm glow over the crowd.

Debbie, as always, looked sublime in her elegant dress, commanding the attention of everyone in the room. Her confidence and grace were undeniable, and Lou couldn't help but steal glances at her throughout the evening.

However, the dress Debbie had chosen for the occasion didn't make it any easier for Lou to focus. It accentuated her every curve, and its neckline plunged just low enough to be tantalizing without being too revealing. Lou found herself caught in a constant battle between wanting to admire Debbie's beauty and trying to maintain her composure.

As the night wore on and the drinks flowed, the atmosphere became more relaxed, and the music grew louder. Lou and Debbie found themselves in each other's proximity, their bodies occasionally brushing against one another. It sent shivers down Lou's spine, and she struggled to keep her thoughts from wandering to places they shouldn't.

Debbie leaned in to speak to Lou over the music, her voice low and intimate to be heard clearly. "Having a good time ?"

Lou tore her gaze away from Debbie's neckline and nodded, trying to sound casual. "Yeah, yeah it's okay."

"You seem a little distracted, though."

Lou's cheeks flushed, and she took a sip of her drink, trying to play it cool. "Just a lot on my mind..."

Debbie leaned in closer, her lips dangerously close to Lou's ear. "Well, if you ever need to unwind and clear your mind, I'm here."

Lou swallowed hard, her heart racing. She knew she should resist, that it was a bad idea to give in to the temptation, but Debbie's allure was impossible to ignore.

Debbie's hand on Lou's lower back sent shivers down her spine, and she couldn't tear her gaze away from her eyes. It was as if they were locked in a silent conversation, speaking volumes with their longing glances.

The other editors at the party were too engrossed in their own revelry, laughing and dancing with abandon, to notice. Debbie's gaze held hers, and Lou felt herself being drawn closer, as if by an invisible force. It was a magnetic pull that neither of them could resist, a connection that transcended words.

Debbie leaned in, her lips brushing against Lou's ear. "Let's get some fresh air."

Lou nodded, her heart pounding with anticipation. She followed Debbie off the dance floor and out onto a balcony, where the cool night air washed over them. They stood there in silence for a moment, their breaths visible in the chilly air.

Debbie turned to Lou. "I'm sorry for being an ass sometimes, I'm just more confortable that way...it's easier."

"I know, I get it."

Debbie let out a sigh of relief, her shoulders relaxing. " You make me feel things I don't want to feel Lou."

The blonde couldn't help but smile. "You're not alone in that..."

"So, what do we do now?"

Lou took a step closer, their bodies almost touching. "I don't know..."

"Lou, I meant it when I said it was a mistake, and I still know we shouldn't do that."

Lou nodded in understanding, her smile fading slightly. "Yeah this is wrong.

Their words might have expressed caution, but their bodies seemed to have a language of their own. Lou and Debbie stood there, inches apart, their eyes locked in a silent conversation of desire and longing. The pull between them was undeniable, and it felt as if an invisible force was drawing them closer together.
