Miguel's POV:
Two weeks later
I was literally counting the seconds before I could leave. I had completed my work, but Florence has a strict rule about leaving early.
I jumped out of my seat as soon as the clock hit 4. Silas was with me in seconds as we rushed out of the office.
Just like the other days, today also, we rushed to the hospital. Cassandra has still not woken up.
When we reached there, as always, Evan was already sitting beside her bed, his head on her chest. I walked forward, giving a peck to both their foreheads.
"Hi Cas" I heard Silas say as I placed both of our bags beside Evan's. Silas situated himself on Cassandra's other side, so I sat at her legs.
"It's been 14 days Cas, please wake up" I said, running my hand on her legs. Automatically, water formed in my eyes, but I pushed the tears away.
"Evan, don't you have an exam tomorrow?" Silas asked. "It doesn't matter. I'll pass anyway" Evan replied.
Pass? Since when has Evan been okay with just passing?
Now Evan's no nerd. He doesn't even like his studies that much. He just wants to get out of college and work.
But when it comes to grade, he tries to at least get above 75%. He says it will help him in getting a job. And now he just wants to pass?
I sighed as I picked Evan up and placed him in the couch in the room. He glared at me, standing back up again.
"Sit down Evander" I commanded, pushing him back down. "NO!" he shouted, standing back up and walking to Cas.
I grabbed his arm, pushing him on the couch again. "Evan please" I turned to soft mode. He huffed, looking back at Cas.
"She wouldn't want you to stop doing stuff in your life and go downhill because of her" Silas said. He attacked straight at the heart.
Evan's eyes watered and he put his head in his hands. "But how do I focus on anything other than her?" he cried.
I sat beside him, pulling him into me. "You have to. It's hard, but it's important" I whispered, kissing his temple.
Evan nodded, finally taking his book out. "Plant diseases?" I asked. "Yeah. That's the topic" he replied. Well, at least it's a topic he likes.
"How did you find out about my exam Silas?" Evan suddenly asked. Now even I looked at Silas questioningly.
"James called. Said you were zoned out in class and didn't even show any enthusiasm in a group study for tomorrow, which is so not like you" Sil answered.
"Bloody snitch" Evan mumbled, making a chuckle escape me. He glared at me again, but I just couldn't get over how cute he looked when he was angry.
I pecked his cheeks, leaving to go get us three dinner. The night passed the same. We stayed with Cas until 9 pm before the nurses kicked us out.
When we reached home, Evan rushed to his room without another word. He's gone so silent these past days that it worries me that he'll go into depression.
Cas needs to wake up soon.
"Your hair's greasy" Silas said, ruffling my hair. I sighed. "Yeah. I haven't washed it in like, 6 days" I replied. "Same" Silas mumbled.
"Shower together?" he asked. I shrugged. I haven't been taking showers regularly like before because they remind me too much of the times me and Cas were in there together.
Maybe if I shower with Silas, it'll hurt less. "Okay" I gave him an answer and then we both went to my room to shower.
This is probably the first time where me and Silas haven't fucked each other while showering together.
"I miss her so much" Silas said, washing my back. I hummed, closing my eyes and letting the warm water soothe me.
When will this nightmare end?
