CHAPTER 5

Elijah waited hidden outside the Salvatore Boarding house in the woods, the front entrance in his view. He saw Elena pull up in her car and stop, getting out she looked around her. Elijah could see the disturbed features, her brown eyes worried as she walked briskly to the door. Elijah whosshed towards her so rapidly and swiftly Elena never comprehended the terrifying moment as her heart was pulled from her frail human body. Elijah lifted her and carried her deep into the woods putting her body down beside the deep grave he had dug. Elijah threw the heart into the bottom of the deep grave, he pulled his handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his bloody hand then put it his pants pocket, he took the dagger from his inside pocket of his suit jacket and crouched down over the body carving the death sign a curved line with two shorter tails coming off the central line into her forehead so she could never be resurrected. He picked her body up and threw her into the deep grave and turned to pick up the shovel. Scooping the earth back into the hole until it was filled and the girl buried deeply in the ground.

Walking back to the boarding house garage to put the shovel back in the garage, he felt no remorse at his actions. Elena Gilbert had caused thousands of deaths with the killing of Kol and Finn, the doppelganger blood flowing in her veins, that could be used by witches for spells diabolical and nefarious, no she was a threat to his family and could not be allowed to live. Now he just needed to kill Katerina, he thought as he walked back towards home.

Finn arrived early the following morning, "Did you and Kol run into any predicaments dealing with Silas?" Elijah asked as Gia went to the front door, she opened it and pulled Sage by her arm into a hug.

"No, there were no hunters of the five. We fed Silas the cure and killed him and you brother, what are you up too?" Finn enquired as his wife joined them in the study, having not gone with Kol and Finn to the island to deal with Silas choosing rather to meet Finn here at the Mansion.

"We need to kill Katerina. I have through different avenues sent word for her to meet me here offering her protection against Niklaus, that of course is a ruse you and I will corner her and kill her." Finn smirked at his younger brother.

"You are not taking any chances in the redo of our lives. I see Elijah."

"No Finn I am not."

"I want in on that," Klaus walked into the living room with Hayley having arrived back from killing their Father.

Sage got up and hugged Hayley, "I know you don't remember anything but we had a great time in the afterlife it is a shame you don't remember."

"I'll take your word for it," Hayley sassed, smiling back at the red head.

Klaus and Finn melded back into the shadows of the bar that Elijah was meeting Katerina in, on the outskirts of Mystic Falls. Klaus watched from his dark corner at Elijah sitting in a booth on the side of the bar with windows that ran the length of the dilapidated, dirty but full of patrons bar. Klaus smirked when he saw the five hundred year old doppelganger enter and walk straight to Elijah. Finn glanced at Klaus from his unassuming dark corner and both men whooshed towards Elijah's table. Finn with an impassive cold face lightly pushed the dead body of Katerina against Elijah, his hand clutching her bloody heart, he put it in his jacket pocket. Elijah put his arm around the dead woman's waist and the three originals walked out Klaus and Finn back and front to Elijah walking the still body out of the bar, the patrons of the bar noticing nothing out of the ordinary.

They buried her in the backwoods of the bar and returned back to the mansion.

Klaus stepped out of the shower and dried himself the bedroom dark he looked down at the long haired brunette asleep her breathing deep and regular, the silence of the room broken by her heartbeat......and a faster heartbeat he frowned getting in the bed beside her he pulled the doona down off her side sleeping body running his hand over her flat belly he focused on the fast fluttering thumping noise. Pregnant. She was not meant to get pregnant in this renewal of time, Hope has said so to them.
