I woke up in my dorm, only remembering falling asleep in the car on the way home from ice skating. I remembered helping Dazai learn, I still had hand prints on my forearm from where Dazai was grabbing me, he held onto me tighter than I expected.
Me and Dazai spent the next few months fighting and arguing, we both went home on Christmas, but he came back different, he was cold, he didn't really bother an argument with me anymore. He just walked away. I also keep noticing him carrying something on his belt whenever he went out, though it was always hidden by his baggy shirts, Yuan started showing signs of liking me, at first I was oblivious then Dazai told me about it and I have been starting to notice it more. He also doesn't hang out with us anymore, he's always with that group, from when he first got here, not that I cared... it was just different.
Its mid summer now and we only have one class each day as our summer break since we live at the school.
"Chuuya!".
Yuan shouted running towards me, she started wearing those really short skirts again and I hated it, not because people stared at her but because she just wanted to show off to the other ladies. It was just weird. Along with Shirase he just went back to how he usually is, wearing baggy clothes, same as Dazai. I wore stuff that fit me well, usually red and black, sometimes white. I only ever wore oversized shirts to bed, it was more comfortable, and if I had one of those huge shirts then I didn't have to wear pants."What...".
I grumbled, turning away from my phone and towards her. Dazai was with his group behind me at a different table, though he had his head down."Look what I got!!!".
She smiled, holding a box of donuts up, most of them were glazed but there was two butterscotch ones with an orange C on them. It disgusted me how obsessive she was. She knew I didn't like her but continued to do all these things."Oh...".
I mumbled, putting my phone down."You can have as many as you want and whatever ones you want!".
She smiled, sitting down in the chair Shirase was about to sit in. He sighed before sitting in the one beside it. I grabbed both the ones with Cs and I stood up, walking over to the other table and putting one infront of Dazai, glaring and then walking away. He looked confused but ate it anyway."Why'd you give him that one?".
Yuan asked, as I ate the other butterscotch one."Because I wanted to give him a donut, whats the big deal?".
I glared, sitting back down."Nothing nothing!".
She smiled awkwardly. I got up and went outside. The sun was already setting. I sat in the sand watching the reds and oranges glare off the ocean, it was calm today. After awhile I heard footsteps behind me, I didn't bother looking until they sat next to me. It was Dazai.
"What do you want...".
I sighed angrily, he just stared straight ahead into the sea."Are you listening to me?!".
I grumbled, he still stared straight head."Yes".
He mumbled softly, I didn't understand, usually by now we would be arguing, this is what I meant, hes been different ever since Christmas."Whats up with you, you've been different ever since Christmas, you don't ever argue with me anymore, you don't bug us?!".
I asked loudly though my voice slowly faded when he turned to me as I spoke, letting me know he heard me. His eyes were pretty, and his hair was a hot mess, though it made everything better. I hated the fact that I found him quite pretty. Why does he have to be so damn pretty.."When was the last time someone told you they loved you, like a family member".
He sighed, his voice was soft and soothing."I dont know... probably last week...? My aunt texted me...".
I mumbled, wondering what he meant."Well Christmas was the last time I will ever hear... somone.. very dear to me say that they loved me... In fact I'll never hear them again...".
He mumbled, I knew that it implied that a member of his family had passed. I heard the pain in his voice but I couldn't do anything, I was suppose to hate him."Oh... I'm- I'm sorry...?".
I tried to sound as polite as I could.".... Do you like your parents".
He asked, it was weird because I thought he lived with his parents."Yeah, but they went missing when I was 6".
I sighed, looking straight ahead into the sunset, with him."What about your parents?".
I asked."Which ones...".
He mumbled, bringing his knees up and resting his arms over them, then putting his head ontop."What do you mean which ones?".
"I've been adopted eight times, the one I'm with now is the longest a family has ever kept me".
"What happened to your biological parents...?".
"Sent to jail, for child abuse".
He said that quieter than anything else, as if he was ashamed."Child abuse.... what did they do...?".
I mumbled, turning to him, I dont know why I cared so much. He stayed silent for a few seconds."I get it if you don't wanna talk abo-".
I was cut off."They forced me to drink, thats why I have a problem with drinking now, they also did more things but maybe I'll tell you some other time if we ever become friends".
He sighed, standing up and brushing himself off. I did the same, the sun was already down and it was starting to get a little breezy. I did feel bad for him but I was suppose to hate him so I didn't bother trying to comfort him or be nice, even though I was being a little nice...
