A few days had slipped by since Jann had unboxed and set up his new steering wheel for Gran Turismo. On this particular Tuesday, he found himself sat comfortably at his racing seat, hands gripping the wheel with a steady focus and concentration.
As he continued to play, Jann soon found comfort in the exhilarating experience his new wheel provided. Its quick response and accurate control made him feel fully immersed in the experience, and he couldn't get enough of it.
His younger brother, Coby, had gone on an overnight trip with his parents to attend one of his football matches out of town. Which meant that Jann had the entire house to himself. It was a rare experience and went in hand with the fact that he had been rostered off work for the day.
Gone were the disapproving glances from his Dad, the constant reminders about returning to University and the responsibilities of being an adult. Jann had just settled into another race before his phone chimed, a new notification appearing on his lock screen. He paused the race and leant forward, his eyebrows furrowing as he tried to read what the notification said from where his phone was placed on his desk.

He rushed to grab his phone without a second thought, eager to see what she had posted. He swiped on the notification which brought up a selfie of Madelyn on her Instagram story where she was sat her desk, surrounded by a chaotic sea of psychology notes and textbooks. She wore a slightly exasperated yet charming smile, as the caption read, 'Drowning in a sea of psychology notes, save me.'
Jann found himself gazing at her selfie, struck by how beautiful she looked. This soon led him to swipe up and start typing out a message.
