Amongst the constant bickering between the two brothers over Coby's questionable driving skills, they had managed to pick up the alcohol Coby had insisted on getting and reached Madelyn's apartment in just under 20 minutes. Jann clenched his eyes shut as the car came to an abrupt stop, muttering a string of curse words under his breath as they pulled up outside her apartment complex.

Jann sent her a quick text to let her know of their arrival before shoving Coby in the shoulder, "Alright, get out. I swear, I'm never letting you drive again."

He swung the passenger side door open and jumped out of the car, swiftly making his way around to the driver's side. His eyes remained fixed on Coby as his brother got out of the car, making his way over to the other side, seemingly about to slip into the passenger seat until Jann interjected.

"No, you're not going to make Maddie get in the back. Come on," Jann insisted, gesturing for his brother to shift to the backseat of the car.

Coby let out a rather dramatic groan, along with an exaggerated eye roll, but reluctantly obeyed, nudging the front seat forward to climb into the back seat of the car. Jann then retook his place in the driver's seat, a sense of relief washing over him now that he was back in control of the wheel.

Out of the corner of his eye,  Jann noticed a figure appear from the building that they were parked outside of. A small smile appeared on his face once he realised it was Madelyn. He couldn't help but admire her appearance as she walked towards the car, wearing a long sleeve dusty orange crop top, low-cut in the chest, with light-wash high-waisted jeans and matching heeled boots. Her long hair was braided, with curly strands delicately framing her face.

Coby tapped him on the shoulder, pulling him out of his trance, "I think you've got a bit of drool there, bruv."

"Shut the fuck up!" Jann retorted, turning around to give his brother a playful shove. The space of the small car was soon filled with the sound of the door opening as Madelyn entered, a warm smile gracing her face as she closed the door behind her.

"Hey boys," Madelyn greeted, acknowledging both of them with a quick glance.

"All right, Maddie?" Coby chirped from his spot in the back seat.

Jann turned his gaze towards Madelyn, patiently waiting for her to make eye contact before he spoke, "Hey yourself."

While Coby and Madelyn engaged in a brief conversation, Jann took the opportunity to discreetly retrieve his phone and send a quick text message to Madelyn.

Just a heads up, don't mention my race tomorrow in front of Coby

After hitting send, he was quick to shut his phone off and turn the key in the ignition.

"Ready to go?" Jann asked, his attention on the road as they headed towards the pier.

He struggled not to get too distracted by Madelyn's presence and her soft voice, or the calming effect she seemed to have on him every time that they were in one another's presence. The subtle scent of her perfume filled the car which was driving him wild.
