Authors Note: Sorry for leaving you waiting for so long! I got stuck in writing this and took a short break that turned into a hiatus when I had to focus on school, graduation, and exams. I hope I can put more time into this and properly conclude this story.

Roman Catacombs...

The Fearling lay on the remains of an old tomb, wrapped in a series of runes and scripts to keep it restrained and asleep. On either side, two imposing figures examined it with trepidation.

Katherine stood at the head of the group, a soothing hand resting on the trapped Fearling, "Ombric? Emily Jane? What's your verdict?"

Ombric, known to the world as Father Time, turned his aged features to level Katherine with a stern look, "What abomination of nature would do something like this?"

"This isn't the doing of anything from nature," Emily Jane, aka Mother Nature, stated firmly, "This is the work of a spirit. A mighty one at that."

Katherine released a trembling gasp, her heart shattering as she hoped against all hope that her suspicions were groundless. It couldn't be, but no one else had the ability to pull an atrocity like this off.

Kailash crooned comfortingly at his friend, nudging her hand with his head. However, this only earned him an absent-minded pat as Katherine struggled to contain her emotions.

Emily Jane turned her knowing gaze toward Katherine, "So, you understand the situation as well, Mother of Knowledge," she observed, a touch of sympathy in her eyes, "I'm sorry..."

Katherine placed a hand over her eyes as if to ward out the reality of the situation, "No... It can't be him! He would never do something like this!"

Ombric placed a gentle hand on Katherine's shoulder, "Katherine—"

She jerked back from his touch as if she'd been burned, "No! This can't be happening! This isn't him! I won't believe it!"

"Enough!" Emily Jane's voice boomed like thunder that could be heard across the world, "Pull yourself together!"

Katherine froze and fell to her knees, trembling as tears ran down her face.

Ombric stepped between the two, giving Emily Jane a look that would stop clocks, "Do not raise your voice, Mother Nature."

Emily Jane's stern expression softened as quickly as her previous impatience had arisen, "Ombric, ever since the Moon gave us new life, the eldest of us have upheld the balance of the world and the spirits. We cannot let worldly attachments cloud our minds."

Ombric turned to see Kailash embracing Katherine in a comforting embrace, "Unlike the two of us, Emily, Katherine's existence is all about her attachment to the world."

Emily Jane glanced at Katherine and back at Ombric before motioning at the Fearling, "What are we to do with..." she hesitated, unsure what to call it.
