Cupid groans as someone jumps on top of her shaking her, their adorable yips sounding in her ear. "Mama, wake up! It's my birthday, which means you get to spend time with me."

"Give me five minutes, Loki." Cupid said rubbing her eyes, she smiles seeing her adoptive son grinning down at her his tail swinging around with happiness. "Okay! Can I have some pancakes with bacon at Darling diner, oh! And a stake!" Loki asked with a smile and Cupid stands up from the bed playfully poking his nose.

"Anything for my little birthday boy." She said with a smile getting change for the day laughing when Loki cheers his way out of her room. Cupid's smiles drops as her phone rings and she felt her stomach drop seeing who it was calling her.

"Hello?" She answers knowing that if she didn't it would go bad to her when she heads to the strip club. "Good morning, my little gumdrop~💞" Val said his velvet voice sounding and she could hear him take a sip of a drink.

"Good morning, Boss. What can I do for you today?" Cupid asked and Val chuckles. "You still keep calling me that? I thought I told you to use my name, so use it." Val said and Cupid felt annoyed.

"Yes, Val." She said and Val let's out a sound of satisfaction. "Anyway, I called because I need you to come in to replace one of my girls. That whore tried to steal my money so I got rid of her, and since I got rid of her I need someone to step in for the show this night." Val said.

"But Val, is my kid's birthday I can't-" Cupid gets cut off by Val. "Are you telling me no? Remember I could have killed you for stealing and using the money on that dog son of yours but I didn't." Val warned his voice turning cold.

Cupid holds her face. "You need to pay back that money by working extra, so I better see you today at the club." Val said and Cupid felt anger but sighs.

"Understood, Val. See you later." Cupid said and ends the call, she cursed and punch the air showing her frustration but stops. "Mom, you okay?" Loki asked from the door and Cupid shakes her head heading towards him.

"Everything is fine sweetheart, let's go get those foods you wanted." Cupid said with a smile picking up her purse on the table, they head out of the apartment walking on the sidewalk. "Mom.. are you ever going to leave that mean guy?" Loki asked with a frown as they continue to walk.

Cupid stayed quite for a moment and sighs. "I don't know sweetheart, maybe in a couple of years or maybe more but you shouldn't worry. I'm a strong mama, I can handle anything." She said giving him a fist bump and Loki drops his ears looking sad as they approached the diner.

"It's my fault, if I hadn't gotten sick you wouldn't have stolen that money." Loki said and Cupid goes on her knees holding his shoulders. "Hey now, stop that." Cupid said with a frown holding his chin to make him look at her.
