The girls that were looking at me caused the others to turn around.
Mr Thomas called one of them, and the smallest one stepped forward and smiled.
Wait.
"This is my daughter that I was talking about. Nevaeh, this is the architect that made the house. Danielle De'Morte."
She held out her hand for me to shake. "It's nice to finally see you again, Danielle. Do you remember me?"
I paused for a while. "Yaa, you were that weird kid that didn't want any friends at school. Right?"
"Weird kid?" She laughed. "I had friends, I just liked being alone sometimes. And those sometimes were the times you saw me alone."
"Well, it's what I heard anyways. It's good to be weird." Nevaeh Thomas, a politician's daughter. That's why they wanted to be her friend and she didn't like that.
This girl was obsessed with me, even though she didn't say anything. She was such a little secretive, sweetheart. I didn't flirt with her though. She had a different vibe to her that I liked.
She smiled as her dad and friends left. "So you're a big shot now."
"I was always a big shot, I just got bigger. And you? I bet you're studying medicine at college, aren't you?"
She looked surprised. "How did you know?"
"Well, you always did well in science since you started school."She was dumbfounded. "What? Didn't think I'd know that much about you? I know a lot of people and you aren't no different. And then again, your name was always beside mine on the achievement board."
"I didn't think you'd pay that much attention to me. You were so popular, and I wasn't to that extent."
"I had my reasons. To me, you were popular because I knew you without the achievement board."
She took a sip out of the wine. She looked damn good, I ain't gonna lie. She was in a short white, backless and strapless dress. It was a floral dress and it showed a lot of chest.
Easy access. I looked at her face and smiled. She got way prettier too. "How?"
"Because you liked me." She got quiet. "How I know? Well, I tend to know when people like me. I'm smart." We made eye contact.
"What I want to know is, why do you still like me after all these years? You graduated a year after me, so why?"
"Yeah, I still like you. Why? I'm not sure. It's weird, and it scares me."
It scares me too, cause I'm not a good person. "Well. So how's the house?" I changed the topic.
"I'm in love with it. It's so comfortable and I haven't been here long enough to look around."
"Want a tour?" She nodded. "Where have you been so far?"
She took another sip. I hope you don't get yourself drunk. "Just here and the kitchen."
"Ok, let's go." I'll leave her bedroom for last. "You know what, let's start outside and work our way in. How does that sound?"
She smiled. "Sounds perfect. You sound like a real estate agent."
"Well, no one knows the house like I do." She smiled again. She's been smiling none stop and it's just too cute.
"Tell me the story behind the house."
The story huh. "Not much to it. It's the first house I've ever drew in my life. It was my dream home and I'm so happy that I made it and you love it. That makes me so happy."
