"What do you mean by that? What happened?" I asked standing up.

"Just tell her." With that he hung up. He sounded irritated but who wouldn't.

I ran outside while mom paid for the food. I jumped in the car, swung it out of the parking lot and picked mom up at the entrance.

"I know I've told you to learn to drive slow but I'm glad you're stubborn, well sometimes." I chuckled.

In about ten minutes I drifted around the roundabout in front of the house. The cops and ambulance vehicle were there.

We jumped out of the car. "What's going on?" Mom asked immediately.

"I'm guessing you're Mrs De'Morte. I'm Detective Williams." He looked at me then back at mom. "And I'm guessing you're the one who answered the phone?"

"Yes I'm Mrs De'Morte and this is my son Danielle. I'm sorry if he was a little rude earlier he's a lot like his father. Now what happened to the older Danielle?"

He sighed. "He was shot dead in his office 15 minutes before I called." Mom felled to the ground while I stood there in shock.

I was speechless. "No no! Questo non può succedere. Dad!" I shouted and ran in the house.

The body wasn't carried out yet so I ran to his office. I saw him on the ground with several gunshot wounds.

"É morto."

Nathan's POV***

He knelt down near his father staring at him while his mother hugged him.

What a world we live in. No one knows who's who until something happens. Who knew Danielle had a son.

"Rick what happened?" He stood there looking at them. "Rick?"

"I was upstairs because Dan told us to take a break. We told him we were fine but he insisted and walked to his office. While I was in the bathroom I heard several gunshots and I ran towards the office but I was too late. It was my fault. Dani I'm sorry. I'm really sorry I didn't protect your dad."

The other twin who stood at the door looking at the body spoke. "You're not the only one who should be at fault I was late also." They were all crying.

"Rick, Des don't you dare blame yourselves." Mrs De'Morte said.

"But-"

She shot them a teary glare. "No buts. You've been Dani's best friends since forever and you guys are family. Don't think for a second Dani will blame you for his father's death."

"Mrs De'Morte I would like to talk to you for a minute." I said walking towards them.

She wiped her tears. "So talk."

"We have reason to believe that Danielle," I noticed that everyone was looking at younger Danielle. Surely they know it's not him. "Mr De'Morte has been dealing with big drug dealers around the world and known as the Mafia called Cracker. He was the #1 most wanted man on the police wanted list. I would like to know if you know anything about that?"

"I don't know anything about what my dead husband did other than owning various business around the world. He was a very secretive man. Detective, I'm in a grieving state so please refrain from the question."

Danielle stood up. "Even if he was, you think we would tell you, what were you going to do? Arrest the dead man?"

I don't think I'll like this child. He has a foul mouth when speaking to his elders. "If only he could still talk I would. Thank you for your time Mrs De'Morte."
