"Fame?! Stop following me!" Jade let out a frustrated yell at the persistent man who seemed to always be chasing her around the university.

She feels a sense of relief knowing that today marks the final occasion she will have to lay eyes on this individual. Jade finds herself feeling irritated by this person, as it seems impossible for her to bring them any satisfaction.

"All I desire is a lovely picture of us together, followed by an indulgent meal at a luxurious restaurant. Is that considered bad?" he asked, a mischievous grin adorning his face.

"Indeed! I'm in a hurry because my son and our babysitter are waiting for me," she said, glaring at the man.

Fame, a Filipino, is studying in New Zealand, just like her. He possessed a deep awareness of his own abilities and frequently indulged in boasting about them.

'This person didn't know that word back-off! If he possessed the knowledge of my upbringing and the family I was raised in, his demeanour would surely be more subdued!' Jade muttered angrily under her breath.

Being an only child, she possesses a keen awareness of her parents' wealth, as they are able to provide her with all the necessities she requires.

The focus of her father's enterprise revolved around property dealings. Her mother was the proud owner of a few charming restaurants and stylish fashion boutiques.

"I have previously expressed my inability to engage with any gentleman." She spoke with sincere gravity, expressing that despite having a son, her affection for him remains unchanged.

Fame's countenance was adorned with a spreading grin. "Indifferent to the matter at hand, I remained nonchalant. I want to assure you, with complete sincerity, that I have the ability to take care of both you and your son. I am surrounded by abundant wealth, within my reach." With an air of arrogance, he proclaimed, "Your existence shall henceforth be made effortless, free from the burdens of toil and various occupations."

Jade responded to the man by rolling her eyes. Its arrogance floated and extended upward, reaching its mind. Despite her privileged upbringing, she holds a strong disdain for individuals of this nature.

"Fame, your wealth belongs to you. I must admit, such things don't dazzle me," she calmly informed the man, gently shaking her shoulder as she moved away from his path.

'Why should one be captivated by riches when it is the very place they originate from? From the wisdom imparted by my parents, I learned that the nature of our existence is characterised by its transience.' As she hurriedly approached her son alongside Beth, she reminded herself that wealth holds no value in the afterlife.

"Mommy!" the child called out, his voice filled with urgency and a hint of excitement. The child seated in the pram uttered a call towards her.

"My baby Crown!" She returned the call.

With a gleeful giggle, the boy reached up, and she picked him up. She even let out a cough, burdened by the weight of it, perhaps due to the fact that her baby's nourishment comes from both breastfeeding and bottle feeding.

"Congratulations, Jade! I am proud of you." The old woman continued to shed tears, expressing her emotions akin to those of a proud parent.

"Beth, I am incredibly grateful for your kindness and generosity." With a heart full of gratitude, she expressed her reliance on the old woman's assistance.

She embraced her with a tight hold. Indeed, the veracity of her statement is undeniable. Had Beth not taken on the responsibility of caring for her son, the attainment of her diploma would have been jeopardized, consequently resulting in her inability to graduate with honours.
