"I told you I'd see you soon, Lucy."

The smoke from the flash bangs had started to clear, Lucy could now see in front of her. There was Chris. Someone she had once really cared about, now stood in front of her with a gun, pointed at her head. Lucy heard her radio come on from the level below. Angela's voice echoed through the metal room.

"7-L-19 security check." The room went silent. Lucy went to step down.

"I wouldn't." Chris switched off the gun's safety.

"7–L-19, do you copy?" Angela's voice echoed again.

"Okay, okay." Lucy raised her hands. "What do you want?"

Chris let out a scornful laugh. "Oh, it's too late for what I want. This is more along the lines of what I have to do."

"Officer Chen?" Angela's voice was becoming more frantic. "Lucy, are you there?"

Lucy tried to swallow the bile rising in her throat. "What do you mean, you have to do this? Is this because we broke up?"

"We didn't do anything!" Chris yelled at her vehemently. "You're the one that made that decision. Not me." Chris' voice was turning hysterical. "I didn't want to hurt you, I told her I didn't want to hurt you."

Lucy felt her stomach drop. "Rosalind." She whispered.

"She still hasn't forgiven you for surviving, you know? That's why I'm here. I was supposed to kill you. Falling for you wasn't supposed to happen." Lucy could see tears streaming down Chris' face.

"Chris, you don't have to do this." Lucy tried to keep her voice steady.

"You're right, I don't have to." Chris slightly lowered the gun. Lucy felt a twinge of hope. "The thing is, in this moment, killing you, is what I want most in the world."

Chris raised the gun back up. Lucy charged, trying to get the gun out of his grasp. She yanked her taser from her belt and shoved it into his side. They must have pulled the triggers at the same time though because as soon as Chris started convulsing, Lucy felt a burning pain in her side, followed by hot blood pooling from her body.

"Shit." Lucy looked down at her already-soaked shirt.

"You bitch!" Chris tried to pull himself up but was unsuccessful in his weakened state. He did however manage to regain control of the gun.

Lucy ran across the walkway, bullets flying haphazardly around behind her. She darted around a corner where she was able to stop and try to catch her breath.

"I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU LUCY CHEN!" Chris yelled psychotically. Lucy could hear him trying to get up and follow her.

It usually took people about an hour to recover from being tased, Chris however was so full of adrenaline and rage, Lucy was sure he'd force himself to get up sooner rather than later. She frantically looked around the area she had found herself in. There was even more dust and dirt in this area, along with some scaffolding and an old tarp. Lucy quickly picked up the tarp and used it to apply pressure to the wound on her abdomen. The shot hurt like hell but like Chris, she was also filled with adrenaline. Thankfully.

Once Lucy felt like the wound was well enough addressed she focused on possible exit points. There was one door that appeared to open into another area, aside from that Lucy determined the only other exit was the door she had entered through which was now locked.

Blood was starting to pool in the tarp she held at her stomach, giving Lucy an idea. She lifted some pressure off of the wound allowing blood to trail from the corner all the way over to the door. She then wiped a bloody handprint on the door before opening it and adding streaks to the following hallway. Lucy then reapplied more pressure to the wound and shut the door loud enough for Chris to hear. Returning to the area she had come from, as quietly as she could, Lucy scaled the scaffolding until she was high enough Chris wouldn't be able to see her, she then grabbed another tarp and threw it over herself.

Lucy lay under the tarp for what felt like hours. Realistically it was about 15 minutes. She was cold and disoriented, the amount of blood she'd lost was verging on fatal. She knew Chris was close, she'd heard him dragging his body after her, and every few minutes he'd yell threats or curse her name. She now heard him grunting, it sounded like he was almost right below her.

"Ha!" Chris took a heavy breath. "Dumb bitch, leaving blood everywhere." He had fallen for her diversion.

Lucy heard the door she'd smeared blood on open and close. She held her breath until she heard Chris' muffled voice coming from behind the door. He was yelling more about how he was going to kill her.

Lucy didn't know what was down that hallway, all she cared about was that he was moving away from her. Lucy released the breath she had been holding. Her head was spinning, and her body felt unbearably heavy. Lucy desperately wanted to fall asleep but she knew she couldn't. Her breathing was shallow, Lucy could tell the adrenaline was leaving her system now that she wasn't in as much danger. Lucy felt her body relax, then slip into a dark unconsciousness.
