Fearless (18)

You decide to investigate without a second thought.

Because on the one talon, you know that you're too injured to survive a fight let alone run away. On the other talon, you're too young to know how to survive on your own. So your decision was pretty easy.

As you walk toward the faint noise, you realize that the sound you hear isn't loud enough to be dragon footsteps. Well, unless a dragon is trying to be stealthy.

What if it's a human?
You whisper to yourself

Time passes, and it seems whoever is making the noise must be looking for someone. That's when you remember last night.

The humans are probably looking for you, and this sound might be a soldier from the castle.

But you can't leave without knowing for sure.

That's when the sound stops up ahead somewhere deep in the forest. Well, if it is a human, they shouldn't know you're even there. You just have to be quiet and stay out of sight.

The bushes move in the light breeze as you crawl forward towards where the noise went silent. With the fear of capture in mind, you get slower and more stealthy over the next few long seconds.

Finally, you see a figure, and it's human.

This was enough to quietly leave and come up with a new plan...

until it spoke

(Dragon)
It says

Your heart pounds in your chest. How did It know you were there?

After a few moments, you realize It wasn't looking directly at you. Instead, this male human, judging by his voice, was looking around the forest.

You have a feeling that He's probably trying to find you. Not just a feeling, because what other dragon would they know about.

(I'm not one of them)
He speaks again

(I won't hurt you, I promise)

Sure, like they all don't say that. You definitely have enough common sense to not fall for the oldest trick in the book. It's probably because you read too much.

That could be why you're a nightwing, but that's just a guess.

(Don't you remember me)

Nope, and I'm pretty sure I don't want to.
You Think

(Sigh)

(I heard what they planned to do with you)

(But when I came to get you, the room was empty)

It's probably a trap, what human would risk their life to save a dragon

(But I trust you, even though we just met)

(And you helped me realize that dragons aren't just monsters. Deep down, they actually have feelings just like we do)

(Dragons and Humans just don't understand each other yet)

You then recognize His voice

It was Mason

The only person that might be trustworthy.
