Chapter 22

We watched lots of movies we watched vampires suck and we laughed so hard that we had bad stomach pains.  

"Oh! It's complicated put that on" Jess said.  

"No the hangover" 

"Oh yeah!" 

A tub of ice cream between us and billions of movies later. I was tiered and went into bed.

I woke with hushed voices.  

"She's in transition...if we don't change her soon she will die" Jess said.  

"You know I can't change her...I can't" 

"You have to" 

"No, Jess, I can't" 

"Don't think if it as changing her think if it as healing her...you have about a week until she dies...you should take her to her parents to tell then what happened" 

"I will" 

I turned onto my side. 

What did they mean by die?  

The memories came flooding back to me.  

I gasped as I sprang up.  

"Hey...it's ok...you're ok" Jess said. 

I breathed in and out.  

I'm really warm, what's wrong with me? I said to myself.  

"W-Why am I so warm?" I said.  

"Um..." 

"Seriously...I feel like I'm in a hot tub on the sun!"  

"That's bad" Jess said.  

"I-I need to cool off" I said "If I sat in a bath with ice it would melt the second I touched it" 

Jess laughed.  

"Well that's really not good" 

"Guess not" I said.  

I looked at Paul to see that pained expression on his face.  

"Ok, I'm going for a cold shower" I said.  

"Got it" 

I went in and turned on the shower and put it to cold.  

I must have been in there for like half an hour.  

I came out, dried myself and changed.  

I went out sitting in my bed.  

"Kat you ok?" Jess asked.  

"Yeah" 

"Good" 

"Why do you ask?" 

"Just wondering" 

"Were is Paul?" 

"He's away to your parents house" 

"Without me? Why?" 

"He's gone to tell them what's happened"  

"Oh..." 

"He didn't want to take you out, he need some space to think" 

"He hates me now doesn't he?" 

"No he loves you don't think for a second that he would think of you ant different" 

"Will I really die if were not fast enough?" 

"You...heard" 

"I heard" 

"You'll be fine...trust me" 

I nodded.  

"If he wont turn you I'll do it myself. I'm not letting you die" 

I looked up at her and smiled.  

As much as I didn't want to die I didn't want to be a vampire ether...well not a vampire at the moment.  

I lay back down on my bed and closed my eyes. 

"Are you hungry?" Jess asked.  

"No...I'm good" 

"You need to eat something" 

"I will when I get hungry" 

"Fine" she huffed.
