𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐍𝐎 𝐒𝐔𝐂𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐒 𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄, Namori believed as the gunship rocked past the ruins of her planet. In the midst of the smoky sky, the gunship glided smoothly, the echoes of battle fading as the capital of the planet loomed ahead. While the war with the rebels raged beyond the palace and city walls, the seeds of rebellion simmered deep within the planet.
Rebel strikes had disrupted vital trade routes between Kratonian cities, severing supply lines to the capital in a bid to lure their Queen back to the war-torn world. General Winters commanded the Kratonian Army, defending outposts and trade routes to the best of his abilities. However, with each passing day without their Queen on the throne, the rebellion's strength swelled unchecked.
"I'm sorry." General Winters whispered from Namori's side, both their eyes trained on the destruction below with heavy hearts.
"It's not your fault," Namori responded with a sigh, her hands clinched to a fist at her sides as her frustration with herself grew stronger.
"And neither is it yours." General Winters hummed, his gloved hand brushing against Namori's fist, urging her hand to loosen its tension through the softest of touches, one that did not go unoticed by a certain Clone Captain who watched the two with a pointed stare.
It was a simple and meaningless gesture done by the General, one that would have made Namori's heart burst in excitement years ago when they were both kids. Where duty and honour did not weigh on their shoulders, but rather childlike innocence and naivety of young love that encased them in their own little world. But times have changed and the two grew distant, the war ever-increasing that distance. Their childhood love affair was nothing more than a whisper of their past, and Namorai knew better than to take any man's gesture as a sign of affection.
"This is my fault." She shook her head in distaste as she flexed her hands, "My people are rebelling against me. I should be here, not in Coruscant."
"You're still fighting for our people, whether it be here on this planet or across the galaxy in the senate," General Winters took an impossible step closer as his voice dropped to a whisper, "That's more than enough."
"We're five clicks from the palace." Rex's voice blasted through the ship as he interrupted the conversation before him, "Better brace for the rough landing, sir." The clone addressed Namori, not giving a second glance to the General beside her.
Namori pushed away from General Winters, her graceful steps carrying her toward the Captain on board, "How's the kid?" She inquired, planting her feet on the ship's floor as they began their rocky descent.
"She'll be alright," The Captain responded, "Ahsoka's a tough one to break, the medics say she'll be awake soon."
"That's good," Namori let out a breath of relief, "I don't think General Skywalker would be very pleased with me if not."
Rex let out a chuckle at the comment before straightening out as if he remembered the reason they were on this godforsaken planet in the first place, "Three of the five gunships we brought to Kratos survived the rebel attack, and from the ones that survived only a handful remain unharmed."
"I'll make sure each clone gets tended to at the palace," Namori cursed under her breath, pinching the bridge of her nose as she felt a headache incoming, "It seems as though we'll be stationed on Kratos longer than expected, Captain."
