"I am waiting, Duke," Alexa sighed, already irritated and on edge. She was not sure if she wanted to go through this. Yes, she did want to know more about her family and her history, but was it worth the chaos that would soon follow? Suddenly she missed her mental companions, for what reason, she was not sure. She looks down at Alcina, who glances back at her, reassuring the giant with a loving smile that everything will be okay no matter what.
"Very well," the Duke reluctantly agreed with a sneer, "but you will face the wrath of Mother Miranda." he snapped, handing a few think books to Karl.
"It would seem Mother Miranda has kept a great deal of information from you, Lady Lenoir. For one, as you know, you are a talented fire witch from a different realm. Your fire essence has been taken from you, however, from whom exactly, I am unsure. Renè might be able to help you with that." he huffed, taking another long drag from his cigar.
"Mother Miranda has kept a journal of her experiences with you, from the moment she first spotted you at the insane asylum in France. She only left you at Beneviento Manor to see if you would mutate," to this, Alexa shuddered.
"Creepy bitch" Karl muttered.
"Indeed, she kept the journal every day since then. Oh," the Duke handed a backpack to Karl, "this belongs to you, my lady. Be careful, the bag is bigger than it looks." the Duke chuckled.
"Tell me about Josephine," Alexa asked softly, not making eye contact with anyone, trying to calm the storm developing in her head. Her eyes roamed to the back of his carriage, eyeing all the randomly placed items.
"I... I don't think now is the time, love" Alcina interrupted before the Duke could answer, before walking over to the giant wolf, eyes pleading. In the eyes of her lover, Alexa could see that there was no good news.
"Very well, I can't argue with Lady Dimitrescu. In fact, I agree, now is definitely not the time" The Duke did not care for the situation or the people around him, looking for ways to escape the angry crowd in front of him.
"Wait just one fuckin' minute," the anger in Alexa's voice made everyone look up and stiffen, "how is it that I have no say in this?! It's MY life and MY memories! And besides, how do I know I can trust you, Duke? You are so far up Miranda's ass you can brush her teeth with your hair!" she spat aggressively. Cassandra and Karl started laughing out loud, but Alcina was starting to get worried.
"I beg your pardon?!"
"You heard me! You were the one who helped Miranda to kill everyone, isn't it? Tell me, how many bullets did you sell to Ethan Winters? And weapons?" Alexa bared her multiple rows of teeth before glancing at Alcina and back to the Duke. Alcina was paler than usual. Karl and Cassandra immediately stopped laughing, glancing at Alexa in shock.
"Alcina! Take a good look at what this man is selling! He helped Ethan!" the wolf barked angrily. Alcina, swallowing hard, slowly looked away from Alexa, her fierce golden eyes landing on the Duke. Glancing behind him, Alcina spotted a horrendous amount of ammunition, and then she spotted it - she recognized the ornate shotgun Ethan used to kill Bela and Daniela. She spotted the handgun as well, held together by only what looked like a bandage.
Cassandra fell to her knees and started sobbing uncontrollably, Karl quickly kneeling next to her while she wailed. Alcina, feeling an insurmountable amount of anger, moved toward the Duke with lightning speed, not stopped by a single person. Her voice broke as the images of her deceased daughter's bodies flashed through her mind, crystallized and ice cold. Her voice broke as she screamed in a mixture of hate and great sadness. Before the Duke could move, she impaled him with her claws through his chest, causing blood to spill from his mouth.
