A/N: I might lose a few readers because of this chapter, and that's perfectly fine. Nothing scary just a really really sad chapter.
I am so sorry 😥😔😖😓
**********************************************"My lady?" A soft voice called, barely audible over the deafening silence of her grief.
She clutched two black roses tightly to her chest. She barely noticed the freezing temperatures outside as the snow fell from the sky. She didn't care. She wasn't crying - She couldn't even if she wanted to - her body won't allow it. Delicate snowflakes settled gently on her hair and shoulders. Her hair was loose, hanging in soft strands over her shoulders. A year ago she wouldn't leave her private chambers without neatly curling and pinning up her hair. She couldn't care less anymore. She fell to her knees in the snow, resting her gloved hands - still clutching the roses - on the tombstone in front of the huge statue in the courtyard. Somehow the tears always came back, dripping down her cheeks onto the snow covered tombstone. With a trembling hand, she wipes the snow away:
'My darlings Bela and Daniela...
The shadows of your bright smiles will forever remain in the heart of a loving mother and sister.'She collapsed onto the grave and sobbed hysterically, images of warmer, happier times flashing through her mind as her heart breaks over and over again.
"My lady?" The voice called again, but she ignored it. No, she didn't even hear her headmaiden call for her. She didn't even react when she felt the woman's tiny hand on her shoulder.
"My lady, please. It's Cassandra." The maiden pleaded with tears of her own in her old eyes.
Alcina Dimitrescu used to be a strong woman, proud, unafraid and powerful. After the death of two of her daughters, she was never the same. She was broken. If it wasn't for her middle daughter, Alcina would have killed herself a year ago. She loved her daughters more than life itself.
"Another one?" Alcina's voice was cracking, hoarse from all her crying and soft.
"I'm afraid so, my lady. She realized today was the..." the maiden trailed off, unsure of what to say.
"Today is one year since their death." Alcina said softly as she got up, not even bothering to look at the maiden. She dusted the snow from her black dress and glanced back to the statue and tombstone.
"Vă voi iubi mereu, fiicele mele dragi. Îmi pare teribil de rău." She sobbed as she moved past the maiden into the castle.

"Please! Please, don't hurt-" screams were echoing through the castle, coming from the dungeons. Cassandra was in a frenzied state, almost as if she was in a trance. She was running through the castle, killing anything that moved. Thankfully, the headmaiden saw what was happening and managed to safely lock most maidens in the staff quarters. Unfortunately, a few was too far away.
"WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU, ETHAN?!" She screamed, laughing through hysterical and heartbroken tears. Her breathing was erratic as she scanned each and every nook and cranny, looking for a man that was long dead. Black streaks of tears marked her cheeks, her eyes unable to focus on anything. Even a small, useless rat was killed. Anything that moved, died. She was just looking to kill. As she flew and buzzed around a corner, Cassandra came across a maiden busy dusting the shelves of the newly repaired library. She didn't even hesitate as she lunged forward, sinking her teeth into the maiden's arm, ripping the limb to shreds. It happened so quickly, the maiden barely started screaming when Cassandra snapped her neck. Her frenzied state was only worsened by the consumption of blood, like a shark to a fresh kill. She barely registered her surroundings, hell, she was barely even human as she stalked through the halls, killing anything that was unfortunate enough to cross her path of destruction.
