Sickness

I walk to school,

And put on a fake smile,

Can they see through my facade?

I keep my gaze down,

Hoping they can't see my pain,

Do they ever wonder why I act this way?

I accidentally let down my wall,

Yes that will come to pay,

They see the fragile thing I am,

Asking am I okay.

No, no, no I want to scream,

My heart hurts,

My minds numb,

Trying to find out what went wrong,

Im so tired.......

They sent me to the nurse,

She asks if I'm alright,

Looking at me with her piercing blue eyes,

Trying to Unbury all my lies,

I want to scream,

No, no I'm not okay,

My heart hurts,

My mind aches,

I'm so tired,

I'm fading away......

She says hon I can help if you tell me,

Lies,lies,lies I chant she can't help me,

I'm already gone...

So i just shake my head side to side and say that I'm fine,

Someday I'd really like to not lie.

This is something that cannot be fixed,

It haunts my mind,

Breaks my bones like sticks,

Telling me I can never be fixed,

I give in I dive out,

I just want out!

This is a sickness that cannot be cured,

It's made from pleas And cries.

This is the sickness that cannot be excused from school,

It lies in the depth of my soul.

This sickness does not show,

Nobody knows,

Nobody knows,

It screams let go!

Judging stares and snickers,

They bounce through the halls,

If only they knew,

What was really wrong.

Yes they go and judge along,

Until they realize I'm gone......

They're all there at her funeral,

Wondering where her family's at,

they died in a car crash.

All alone she had no home,

Once a bold girl turned cold.

The nurse comes up to her grave and says,

" I realize now your sickness is where demons run.

Your silent pain fueled every one."

Everyday the nurse left lilies on her grave,

The flowers represent a girl with a big smile who inside was frozen blank.....
