Lunex yawned as she sat up in her bed. She looked around, seeing the cabin completely rebuilt and decorated. Adam walked into the cabin with a few rabbits in hand. When his eyes landed on Lunex, he dropped them and ran over to hug the little vampire. "Your finally awake Lunex, thank the heavens!" He said as a single tear ran down his cheek."Adam come on its only been a single night" she giggled as she gave a beaming smile.
Adam's face filled with sadness."Lunex, its been six months."
Lunex chuckled a bit thinking it was a joke but Adam's face didn't change "walk with me lunex but hold onto me so you don't fall."
Lunex climbed out of the bed and held onto Adam's arm. The two slowly made their way outside where Lunex could see that despite the weather being cold, it was much warmer than she remembered and the snow had melted away. This causes her eyes to widen in surprise.
Adam walked over to the cart rummaging through some crates before pulling out a dagger, then walked back to Lunex and gave it to her. She looked at it for a few moments before taking it. The dagger looked relatively normal. It had a dark chesnut wooden handle with leather wrapping. "Thank you Adam but....I don't know how to fight" she said with a displeased look on her face.
Adam knelt down and plances a hand on her shoulder. "As long as you catch them in the throat with it that's all that matters, later today I'll teach how to fight. I'll be heading back into the forest I found some elk tracks. Thankfully, theres no more signs of the wendigo."
Lunex looked down at what little snow remained on the forest floor, then looked back up at Adam. "Can I please go with you Adam? I wanna get some flowers for the cabin." The vampire pleaded, her eyes widening as her cheeks puffed up.
Adam chuckled as he saw the adorable face she was making. "Alright fine, but only if you stay close." Lunex nodded, soon after the two headed into the forest.
Adam quickly found the tracks he was looking for while Lunex found some violet flowers and some roses. Eventually she became distracted, and didn't notice Adam had moved on when she moved deeper into the forest.
After a while she heard the sounds of music, she instinctively drew her dagger and approached. There she saw a extremely tall man with long black hair tied into pony tail. He wore a black flowing kimono accented in red and silver. Playing a violin. It entranced Lunex as she had never heard music so beautiful in her life. She took a step forward breaking a twig.
The man stopped playing his violin and looked at the young girl in front of him. "Oh, I didn't realize I had a audience of one, but what is a young girl like yourself doing in the forest by herself?" Spoke the man with a very soft and calming voice.
Lunex gasped and fell backwards, the man walked over with a soft smile and knelt down holding out his hand to help her up.
Lunex hesitated, but grabbed his hand and allowed him to pull her up."I was picking flowers with Adam...adam!" The realization set in that she couldn't find him and she started to panic.
"I can help you find him, what does he look like?" Lunex explained what Adam looked like to the kind stranger before her. As they began to walk through the forest something shining caught her eye she knelt down and it was an entire bush of roses of silver the man walked over and knelt down
"Ah, silver roses. They are extremely rare, especially around here."Lunex looked up at the man "What are they? I thought roses only bloomed red."
The kind stranger picked one of the roses and pulled out a few materials. He fashion it into a hair clip. "Silver roses only bloom when a demon had been killed, but only those from purgatory. And even still they would have to be a high ranking one at that." He put the hair clip in lunexs hair. "they also help control one's magic so they are usually used in alchemy and encased in enchanted resin and made into pendants."
Before he could get up they heard a loud roar and a massive grizzly bear came out from a nearby bush and stood on its hind legs, letting out another roar. The man just stood up towering over the bear looking down to meet its gaze. The bare bit into the man's neck and Lunex screamed. However, the man just picked the bear up by one of its paws and threw it further into the forest knocking down several trees in the process. "Damm wildlife" the man said in a annoyed tone.
Lunex walked over."Are you alright mister?" She asked through tears and a choked up tone.
He simply smiled and moved the part of his kimono the bear had bit into, revealing he was perfectly fine. "Now then, no more distractions." The man held out his hand and the trees parted revealing a path forward. As they walked a stone path formed and the trees kept parting, after a while lunex heard her name being shouted and saw Adam, she ran and hugged him.
"Where were you Lunex? I turned around and you weren't there!" Said Adam with a worried tone.
"I got lost picking flowers, and a kind stranger led me back here!" Said Lunex, her voice still a bit shaken.
"What stranger lunex?"
Lunex looked back towards where she had come from and the path had closed up.
"What did this man look like?"
"Hmmm...he had super long black hair, red eyes. Wore a black, red and silver kimono. And he played a violin and he gave me this!" she pointed to the silver rose hair clip.
Adam's face filled with more worry "Lunex that man...he... nevermind, I'm just glad you're safe. Well anyway, I managed to get the elk so we can head on home. Just please hold my hand so I don't loose you again." And with a day filled with excitement over the two headed home.
Lunex sat on a stump as she watched Adam drain the elk of its blood and skin it, before butchering it. Adam started a fire nearby the stump and started cooking the elk meat giving lunex a cup of it's blood and a nice slab of meat. After eating the two turned in for the night to get some much needed sleep.
The next day they was awoken by a horrid shreik, it was a sound neither had ever wanted to hear again...
The wendigo had returned.
