How long had it been? From a sudden darkness that felt like hours of endlessly waiting. Grayden could feel again, as if he had momentarily lost his ability to comprehend his existence. A sudden rush of searing heat overwhelmed his senses he could see what was causing this sudden discomfort it felt like it had been a few minutes when he suddenly hears a group of footsteps somewhere near by. From what he could make out the surface they where walking of was concrete? Or something like it.
"All the pods are opening but they aren't moving? Are they dead?"
Grayden's attention was focused on the introduction of voices.
"No I brought it.."
"Should we get Melissa?"
"She's not here right now.."
"Right...then I'll get lieutenant Sanchez"
"Yeah go do that I'll keep an eye on them incase something happens"
Grayden could hear one of the individuals leave the room the person who stayed behind made no noise indicating they where still in fact there leading Grayden to question if this was even real. Was he really awake? Or was this just a dream? It had been a few minutes Grayden heard people walk into the room though he still couldn't move his body let alone open his eyes, only lay motionless and listen to what was happening around him.
"I see what you meant now... hopefully Melissa will get here soon enough I'm not exactly sure what to do..."
"Ah..okay sir..should we leave or..?"
"Yes there is still work to be done go back to your duties."
"Yes sir right away!"
"Yes sir.."
Grayden listened as the two exited the room leaving the individual he could only assume was in charge behind. And so Grayden was left to sit and wait once again. Every minute or so the person he assumed was "John" would make some type of noise whether it be taping his foot for a moment, clearing his throat of mumbling something incoherently to himself.
And finally after what felt like an hour of waiting he heard someone enter.
"Came as fast as I could-"
John: About time...I've been waiting for an hour and a half.
Melissa: Don't have time for your Bull right now Johnathan, help me get them unplugged...
John: Anything I shouldn't unplug or am I supposed to know how this old ass science shit work?
His tone was snarky and sarcastic, it was hard to tell who was the individual with more authority.
Melissa: No..? Just be careful while doing it so you don't rupture their vessels..especially at the artery points.
John: Alright.
Both Melissa and John move pod from pod disconnecting the many wires and cables from the suits freeing each individual from their deep sleep.
