7.Best way.

"Wait for me, I will be back after this call," Cheng said as he made Zhan sit on a bench and went to answer his call.

Zhan was alone sitting on the bench and staring at nothing, he was on the verge of breaking down, when he saw two shoes appear in his line of sight he looked up and saw that Yibo stood before him, he gave him an awkward smile and said, "I brought some first aid. Let me apply it."

He said as he cautiously sat beside Zhan, took out the medicine, and started to apply it to Zhan's bruises on his face.

Zhan flinched due to the coldness, but he didn't say anything and let Yibo continue, after Yibo was done, he gave Zhan a bottle of juice and said, "It's for you."

Zhan took the cold bottle, opened and took a long sip before he closed the cap and kept the bottle against his cheek, and looked at Yibo, who was wrapping up all the medicines.

When Yibo noticed the stare at him, he looked at Zhan and asked, "What is it?"

"Are you really that nice, or do you have a hidden motive? And what happened to your face?" Zhan said referring to the slight bruise forming on Yibo's face.

Yibo smiled and said, "I am an angel, of course, I am really that nice. And as for my face, you punched me while I was trying to pull you away from the fight."

Zhan stared at his cheek before he raised his hand and touched it, "sorry"

"It's alright, I was the one who jumped in the fight anyways."

 "Tell me Yibo, have we met before?"

Yibo paused before he looked at Zhan and shrugged, "Who knows maybe? in a past life or perhaps in heaven."

"I am talking about in this life."

"Who knows." Yibo said before he added, "You must be feeling very calm right? you really beat the crap out of those people, Liam and Grady's faces were really bloody."

Zhan smiled proudly, "Of course, I beat the crap out of them, but I am not happy."

"Because of your brother?"

Zhan sighed, "Because of our helplessness."

Yibo spoke, "You know sometimes the best thing you can do is just focus on yourself."

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is sometimes the best way to take revenge is to be successful and the best."

"That's some really cliche and old saying."

"But for someone in your situation isn't this the best way? Besides you have the skills and talents as well, you can do it, you know, take revenge without using fists."

Zhan looked at him and the two stared at each other before Cheng came back.

Yibo greeted him before he went away and Zhan left with Cheng to the coffee shop.

After taking a sip from his hot coffee Zhan sighed with relief he really needed some caffeine in his system.

"Is it good?" Cheng asked and Zhan gave him a nod.

"Good." Cheng replied before adding, "Mom told me about what happened and I have to say that I am sorry, I shouldn't have slapped you." Zhan looked at him and let Cheng continue, "I had no idea that you were going through so much in your college.

I thought Grady and Liam were your best friends what happened?"

Zhan looked down and said, "Grady slept with Brenna and Liam helped them to hide it from me, after dad was arrested, I was down and so I went to Grady's house where I found Brenna and Grady together, of course, a huge fight was caused.

After that day, Grady and Liam spread rumors in the college, they told everyone about everything that I had told them, and they also exaggerated something such as telling everyone that I had also had a tendency to assault girls just like my dad that's why Breanna broke up with me.

Since I assaulted her and Grady saved her and now they are dating and god knows what. So yeah no one really cares that much about me anymore."

Cheng sighed, "I am sorry Zhan, I thought that you were enjoying your campus life I had no idea it was that bad, I am sorry, but don't worry, it won't be long, I promise that I will work harder and our situation will change, you won't have to put up with this bullshit, just give me some time.

But right now we are helpless, Zhan I know that it might sound cowardly but sometimes when things are not in our favor it is okay to bend it's okay to surrender, and then when the time is right make a comeback.

What I am trying to say is do your best to avoid physical fights like this, or don't throw the first punch, the best you can do is focus on yourself that's the best distraction."

Zhan nodded as he drank his coffee, he felt rather emotional right now since his brother who he thought didn't give a fuck about him was encouraging him, his brother had faith in him, he then looked at Cheng and said, "I am sorry for being disrespectful to you before, I really love you, brother."

Cheng smiled, "Me too, and I am happy that you are my brother Zhan. I trust you and I am proud of you, you are one of the reasons why I am still standing and still working so hard, so you are not useless, you are indeed special, I hope you know that."

Zhan smiled and his brother smiled before he said, "This just got cringe."

And the two laughed.
