A rich smell filled the room, and I sighed with delight at the cozy sensation.

"Finnick! Get up!" Portia screamed from outside the room, pounding on the door in furious waves. The cozy sensation ran away from the room, and I rubbed Finnicks shoulder lightly.

He opened his eyes dreadfully, and squeezed my hand before rubbing his eyelids in exhaustion. "Good morning to you too Portia", he said sarcastically, still fighting to keep his eyes open.

Portia grunted with annoyance and yelled Finnicks name dramatically through the door.

"How can I help Portia?" He asked, before turning and kissing me on the cheek, "And good morning to you too".

I rolled my eyes with a smile.

"It's Y/n Finnick! I cant find her anywhere! She's not in her room, she's not in the kitchen, the bathroom, the roof, the dining hall and...Finnick could you please just come out here! I can't have a missing tribute right now, the stress will make my skin irritable!"

Finnick melodramatically sighed, frowning as he turned to face me. He grabbed my shoulders suddenly with an exaggerated suprise, "Y/n?! Is that you?! You're supposed to be missing!" He whispered, confused.

"One can only hope".
I leaned into Finnick, with fake sad eyes, "Now... kiss for the girl who has to go in the closet", I motioned, and Finnick gave me a quick kiss on the forehead. I stood up quietly and tiptoed to the inordinately large closet, opposite of the bed and side of the room.

"Portia calm down she's probably in another tributes room, I'll be there in a sec", he said, as I curled up in a ball and slide the closet door closed.

"Alright that's it Finnick I hope you're dressed I'm coming in, I don't think you understand the severity of this-", Portia paused, luckily I was already hidden, but Portia could still see the outline of my body in Finnicks bed.
"Busy night I presume?" She asked, laughing as she sat down on Finnicks bed. "You've always been a Peacock I suppose".

This closet was suddenly feeling very small.

"Who was the lucky girl?" Portia giggled, clapping her hands in giddy excitement.

"You wouldn't know her", Finnick responded.

"Oh Darling!" Portia laughed and brushed her hand over his shoulder, "There is not a single person in this building I don't know!"

Finnick cleared his throat, "Well that's nice, do you still need my help finding Y/n?"

"Well, she's probably just with a tribute, like you said". From the crack in the closet, I saw Portia bat her pink eyelashes at him. Of course she was already done up, dressed up, pretty and offering herself to him on his bed.
And of course here I was, with bed hair, hiding in a dark closet.

Portia continued "I don't know why I was so worried before! I just...", she paused hesitantly, "You know I care so much about your safety, maybe even a little too much", She said, giggling sweetly.

"That's nice Portia," Finnick said. At least I knew he couldn't cheat on me right now, because I was right here watching him, From the closet and all.

"You do know you keep me sane? Even when I just act so...crazy!" She put her hand back on his shoulder.

Ugh. Finnick didn't respond, he just looked at her and nodded with a half smile.

"Don't I act crazy Finnick?" She said, sliding her hand down to his leg. Finnick sprang off the bed.

"Ok Portia I'm actually going to get breakfast now- I'm starved." Finnick stated, his footsteps scuffling against the floor as he started for the door.

"Well you must be! It's a shame you missed dinner last night, where were you anyway? With the mystery girl? And I guess I'll go with you to breakfast, I do love how they switch up the itinerary from day...."

Her voice trailed off as she shuffled out of the room, following Finnick down the hallway.
