9-Jump

Kyra POV

"I'm so sorry, I know it's late but I... I... I can't" Avi cried desperately through the phone.
"No, Avi it's okay! Where are you?" I breathed.
"I'm at the bridge. I can't do this anymore Kyra."
"AVI STOP." There was no way to remain calm.
"I'm going to jump. I just- I just want to thank you for being so nice."
"DON'T DO THIS AVI."
"I'm sorry." I couldn't contain the tears any longer.
"Pl...please Avi. I'm coming to get you just stay there. Please Avi. Don't do this to me." I sprinted to the car.
"I'm sorry Kyra." He said through tears and hung up the phone.

I might be his last call. Tears spilled on to the steering wheel and I was in no position to be driving. I grabbed my phone to call the police.
"911 what's your emergency?"
"My-my-my friend is about to jump off the bridge on South Street and I don't think I can save him in time!" I cried.
" Ma'am please calm down. We are sending people down there now. Are you aware of what caused this?"
"He called me in panic I don't know what's happening!" I almost hit another car driving down the highway.
"Well be there as soon as we can. Thanks for the information." I hung up the phone as I was just minutes from the site. Avi, please don't do this.

Mitch POV

We watched three police cars drive down the highway. "What do you think happened?"
"Maybe there was a fire or something." Kevin said.
"Or..." Kirstie looked down. It can't be Avi? Right? I turned the car around and followed the police cars.

"Prepare for the worst guys. I just hope it's not Avi." The blinking cars stopped right before the bridge. We quickly got out of the car and ran up to the officers.
"What happened?"
"Look you guys can't be here right now this is serious business." The police officer lectured, but we ran towards the brunette crying near the bridge.

"Are you okay?" Kevin asked her.
"I tried to stop him. I... I..." She burst into tears and Kevin hugged her.
"You'll be okay."
"No." She mumbled. I watched the officers pull someone out of the water. Oh my god... It was a suicide attempt.

The girl looked up, "NO NO." She yelled helplessly and ran towards the unknown man. What if that was her boyfriend? Or brother? I felt tears slip from my own eyes and noticed Kirstie was doing the same thing.

"Is he alive?" She asked the officer.
"I don't believe so, I'm sorry. Can you identify him?" The girl wiped the tears away.
"His name is Avi and he sings in a band and he's really depressed and I couldn't save him!!!"

No.... I ran towards the body. No please, this is all a nightmare right??? I collapsed to the ground as I watched Kevin and Kirstie burst out on tears beside me.
"I didn't even recognize you guys... I'm so sorry. You probably needed him more than I did. I'm Kyra by the way." The brunette came towards us and hugged me. Her tears soaked my shirt.

An ambulance rushed in and took his body away. We let Kyra ride with him since she was the most mentally stable at the moment. He can't really be gone... right?

Scott POV

"Hey Brin apparently Avi is missing." She looked up from her laptop.
"Really?"
"I think the others thought you did something to him."
"I don't want anything to do with him. I can't even handle all the death threats I'm getting right now."
"Because of Avi?"
"No because of my cat! Yes, because of Avi. My god, you are such an idiot Scott."
"Sorry."
"You should be." She pulled me in closer and smashed our faces together. It was not romantic at all.
I pulled away, "I'm just worried about Avi, okay?"
"Just forget about him!"
"I can't forget about him! He's in my band and we're supposed to be best friends."
"Maybe you should quit."
"What?"
"Leave Pentatonix, just do a solo career."
"I can't just leave them like that!"
"It's one or the other Scott. Me... or them?"
"You can't just make me choose like this!"
"Yes I can!"
"No wonder why Avi left you." I snarled, "You're a bitch. Goodbye Brinley. We are over." I grabbed my bag and left her apartment. Now I have to go find Avi.

Kirstie POV

Kevin rushed Mitch and I to the hospital, Mitch was too upset to speak but I refuse to believe he's dead. He wouldn't just leave us like this. He's been through it all, why throw his life away now? He's still alive. I know he is.

We ran to the front desk. "Avi Kaplan... is he okay?" Kevin asked rather calmly.
"I'm not sure. We'll fill you in as soon as we get information."

About 20 minutes later a nurse came out.
"They are currently working to bring him back. They pumped water out of his lungs but I wouldn't get you're hopes up. It's not likely that he'll survive. His heart rate keeps almost stopping."
