Minnie was overcome with lust and a certain expectancy. The date was objectively going well, but the girl found herself impatient for it to be over. She looked forward to the uncertain "what if" that would come after, the possibility of a sensual encounter.

The girl across the table from Minnie, Willow, was rapid firing ice breaker questions into the space between the two, filling what would otherwise be an awkward silence, as Minnie was not good at conversation.

"So tell me, what do you do for a living?" Willow asked, leaning her head on her hand.

"If you were an animal, what animal would you be?"

"Where would you travel if you had infinite money?"

Finally, Minnie's date let her fork clatter onto the plate with finality. She smiled, a genuine and charming thing, and sent a polite wave in the direction of their waitress. The waitress hurried over, hovering over the pair expectantly.

"Check, please," Willow said sweetly.

As the waitress went to retrieve the check, Willow placed her hand over Minnie's, sending a bolt of electricity running through the girl.

"This was super fun," Willow murmured, gazing into Minnie's eyes.

A warm tingle pleasantly swam through Minnie's body, the intense eye contact lighting up her synapses.

A few minutes later, Minnie and Willow were holding hands as they strolled through the restaurant parking lot, giggling softly. The small gray car rested peacefully at the edge of the lot, nestled comfortably in between a van and the curb. Willow held open the door for Minnie, earning her a warm smile, before walking around to the driver's side.

"Just type your address into the GPS," Willow said as she switched on the radio.

Minnie obeyed, a bit confused as she had assumed they were going back to Willow's place. The bubble of excitement in her chest deflated a bit. However, her concerns were forgotten as Willow began to sing along to the music, leaving Minnie no choice but to join in.

Willow laughed. "You're not the best singer, huh?" her face flushed. "Sorry, I didn't mean it in a bad way. I find it cute." The flush softened into a gentle blush, making Minnie grin. Minnie liked it when she made her partners flustered.

The two continued to sing, each song blurring into the next, the lyrics rolling off their tongues until the music was interrupted by Willow's voice.

"Ah, here we are," Willow said, pulling into the lot of Minnie's apartment complex.

A bit disappointed that the music session had come to an end, Minnie unbuckled and slipped out of the car, leaning against the open door.

"Thanks, this was fun," Minnie said, tempted to invite Willow inside. However, she decided against it, as she had gotten the vibe Willow wasn't about to have sex after the first date. A shame, really, as Minnie was needy- like always.

"Do you want me to walk you inside?" Willow asked.

"No, no, that's fine," Minnie replied, waving her hands. She turned to go, looking back over her shoulder to say, "Get home safe."

Minnie knew that the date had gone how dates were supposed to go- romantic and comfortable. However, she felt like the night was incomplete; it felt anticlimactic. The girl groaned into her pillow, kicking her feet against the mattress.

What was wrong with her?
