Hello loves!

I would like to start this off by saying that this is a mature story and that I'm not going to shy away from describing things that may make others uncomfortable.

There is going to be nudity, descriptions of the naked body, body horror, abuse, blood, injuries, gore, violence, and manipulation. It's not a fun story and I'm going to say that forthright. It's a discovery of ones characters, and the title refers to various aspects of Damian's personality and identity, not just to his being a shape-shifter. But you could probably guess that from the tags ^^

If it makes anything mentioned before make you uncomfortable, please adhere to the warnings at the top of each chapter. Or just don't read the story. Your choice.

Secondly, I do not own any of the characters except my OCs. I do not own DC. I've not even really consumed any DC canon except for a few batman episodes and some Supergirl with my little cousin.

So if there are mistakes, then I apologize. Most of my knowledge is from fanfics and pinterest and tumblr.

If you decide to read the story, I hope that you enjoy.

Comments are much appreciated and enjoyed!

Much Love

Dani

----Ch1----

Many would think that being a shape-shifter would endear Damian to his mother and his grandfather.

And, in some cases, they may be correct. Damian got away with more than what could've been allowed, but the bar was always higher. That meant that if he failed when expected to succeed, the compensation was always worse.

His body could shift into whatever he willed it too - it could be a male, female, an animal, any shape, color, size he wanted. It set a bar for him, a standard that he had to meet continuously, lest he be punished.

Damian enjoyed his gift though, changing and morphing into whatever caught his fancy, and experiencing different sides of things that most others didn't realize. As a girl, people treated him a certain way. As a boy, people treated him a certain way. It differentiated from gender and it was intriguing. Social constructs were always intriguing until he had to somehow fit himself into them because sometimes he forgot what he was---some days he was just human but not to the outward perspective.

There were days when he spent as long as he wanted as a female, shifting to match the other females at the League that were his age. Some days he had blond hair, auburn hair, green hair - his eyes ranged through the spectrum and sometimes he even changed his pupil.

Solanine, his teacher, would sit with him, and just stare at him as he shifted. She would make hemlock bloom, make cracks in the floor, and eat it as she tutored him. She was strange but endearing - she had given Damian his gift after all, and her powers were admirable. Damian enjoyed watching her spar with other assassins and pile them amongst each other with only flicks of her wrists.
