Skylar

The girls' party went surprisingly well. We invited some family and friends to the beach house and decided on a pool party, since summer was coming to an end. Being extra as always, we had  a bouncy house, slip and slide, water balloon fights, snow cones, and a bunch of food from different catering places. The girls enjoyed playing with their cousins and friends and it put me in a better mood, seeing how happy my girls were. After singing Happy Birthday, we hung out a little bit before it got late.

When I got home that night, I was wrecked. I bathed the girls and put them to bed before I showered and changed into comfy clothes. I then made my way into the living room and poured Dylan and I some wine while we watched a movie.

Dylan lives in the same building but spends all her time in the penthouse with me and the girls. We're the closest thing she has to a family now, and I wouldn't trade our little "family" for anything.

"Have you talked to Avielle?" she asked, placing her glass down onto the table and turning to me.

    "No, why do you ask?"

"I've been texting Cali and she sort of mentioned the whole thing about telling you to go for it."

It's not that I didn't want to, I definitely did, but with everything that's going on in my life right now, I couldn't help but to think maybe it's still too soon and I'm not entirely ready for anything serious right now.

"Uh no I haven't," I started. "I mean she's a very beautiful girl, but I'm not sure I want to pursue anything with her now that I'm her boss and everything."

"You're scared, and that's okay. If you really don't, I'll leave you alone about the whole thing, but if there's a part of you that thinks otherwise let me know and I'll be happy to help." She said as she winked.

I sat there contemplating about the whole thing. I truly was scared, this was all fairly new to me and I didn't want to fuck it up. The worst thing I could do was get rejected though...right? I paused what was left of the movie, and turning to face Dylan.

"Okay fine. I think I'll go for it."

Dylan turned to me with a big smile plastered across her face.

"I know a perfect way to get this thing going." Dylan started. "Tomorrow we can all go to lunch at The Grove, so that way it's not as awkward..knowing how you are, and it'll give Lyric, Taylor and I a chance to be wingmen."

The idea actually wasn't too bad. It would give me a chance to not only get to talk with Avielle, but I would have my friends there to support me since they know me better than anyone else.

"Okay," I began, "but you guys better not embarrass me or else she'll be visiting me in prison and you know I do look good in orange."

"I know that's supposed to be a threat and all, but that only turned me on."

"What doesn't turn you on?" I asked as I picked up our glasses and made my way to the kitchen.

"You've had enough to drink, ma'am. Go home and go to bed because we have work early tomorrow, nasty."

...

I arrived at work quite early after the nanny arrived for the girls. Maverick had got called into a meeting out of state, so we held out on runway work, and I decided to go ahead and help the campaign models with looks, since there were only 6 of them. I called them one by one into the office, as they brought the clothes the assistants laid out for them. We made the necessary adjustments and they were then free to go. Next it was Cali's turn and she walked into the room wearing a huge smile plastered across her face.
