Skylar
It's been about a month since the accident. We're back home and in a routine trying to get the girls adjusted to kindergarten. The last few weeks have been overwhelming but we've managed to get through them. Avielle came by as often as she could to check in and see how we're doing. The girls have grown fond of her, and it makes me happy to see them bond.
Speaking of Avielle, tonight is our first actual date since we leave for New York tomorrow. I told her we should reschedule once we get back because I have the girls tonight since Mav and our guy models flew out to New York ahead of time, but she insisted the girls being present was okay.
With the campaign almost complete and the fashion shows starting Monday, we're in the final stretch of this season. The actual work is officially done, and only Dylan and I were at the office today. I had the rest of the crew prepare their luggage early and leave it at the studio so we wouldn't have to worry about it tomorrow and it would already be on the jet when we arrived.
"So," Dylan began as she sat on the couch in my office. "I know you guys have a date tonight, so after dinner I'll pick the girls up to stay over so you have a kid free night."
"Are you sure?"
"I would take them so you could have dinner alone, but I have a little fun of my own planned in 45 minutes."
"First, Ew. I didn't need to know that. Second, okay, they'll be fed, bathed, and ready for you."
"I'll grab them around 8 and we'll have a fun night of our own tonight." Dylan said, letting a smirk spread across her face.
"Go right ahead, but not too much fun. You three still need to be up early so I can take them to their grandparents and so you can get to the jet on time."
"Whatever you say mother."
After Dylan and I left the office, I went to pick up the girls from school. After agreeing to let them play in the park for a bit, we made our way home to get ready for dinner. The girls changed out of their school uniforms and wore similar white dresses with gold sandals and jewelry. They insisted we all matched, so I wore a white backless dress that hugged my body perfectly and displayed my back tattoo. After we were ready, I sent one of my drivers to get Avielle and bring her to the penthouse so we could all ride together.
I sat at my vanity fixing my makeup while the girls sat at the kitchen island drawing. I heard the elevator ding and began making my way downstairs to the living room.
"Avi!" The girls yelled as I watched them run into her arms.
"Hi pretty girls." She said, pulling them both into a hug.
I made my way further into the living room and couldn't help but to smile as I watched the girls drag her to the kitchen island to show her their drawings. I walked up behind them and wrapped my arms around Avielle's waist.
"You look beautiful." I whispered in her ear.
She laughed and laid her head on my shoulder before turning to face me.
"I could say the same about you.." Her eyes trailed down my body, making my breath hitch.
I smiled, pulling her closer by the hips before our lips then met gently kissing one another.
"Ew." The girls said at the same time, making me smile against Avi's lips.
"Go take your things to your room so we can go." I said chuckling.
It was easier than I thought it would be to explain to the girls about me and Avielle. One night after they got home from Mav's, I sat the girls down and explained to them that I liked Avi in the way I used to think I liked their daddy. They're five and couldn't care less about the whole thing and their only concern was if they now had two moms.
