He was mad.

He was frustrated.

He was irritated.

How dared he? How dared Zeus come to his reign and talk to him like that? Threatening him and the boy.

He looked at Percy, he was pale.

" I won't let him take you."

"He's Zeus."

"And i'm the god of the Underworld, king of the deads!" he screamed, leaving the room.

Walking helped him, usually, but he never felt like that.

Zeus always behaved like that. He thought that the world was his playground and he could play with gods and humans till he wanted, as he wanted, throwing them away, if they weren't already dead, once he had finished with them.

It had always been like that, and that was what scared him. Zeus always got what he wanted and he also knew there was no way for him to save Percy.

The only two options were leaving him to Zeus or killing him.

"Damn me!" he sighed.

"It's not your fault", suddenly said Darab, appearing behind him: " I've been dead for centuries and i've never seen you like this. It's not the first time one of your brothers annoys you."

"He always wants things that don't belong to him."

"You mean Percy? Does he belong to you?"

"W-what? No No", he immediately said: " But he's in my reign."

"That human, what did he do to you?"

"What do you mean?"

"I'm sure that if it wasn't for him, you wouldn't be that mad."

"What are you trying to say?"

"Nothing", he answered, lifting his shoulders: " I just think that you should...give up, you can't save him and if i were him, i'd prefer to be dead than being Zeus's toy."

Darab's words were severe but true, he would have preferred the same, but it wasn't a choice that he had to take.

He looked for Percy everywhere, when he didn't find him he thought that Zeus already took him, but he eventually found him in his room. Percy was on the bed, his arms around his legs that he brought to his chest.

The human was tall, but like that, he looked so small and fragile.

"We'll find a solution", he said, lying to him.

"There isn't a solution, Hades, i know it very well."

He took a seat on the edge of the bed, away from him.

"I'm sorry, this is my fa-"

"No, stop saying that! It's not your damn fault, i wanted this!" he said, almost screaming.

When he lifted his face he realized he had tears in his eyes.

"That is what i've been trying to say, Hades. Why do you think i was there, in the meadow, when you found me?"

And then, he realized it.

"You wanted to be found."

"I grew up with all those stories, if you're in the meadow during the night, evil creatures and gods will come for you, they will kill you or take you for eternity, and that sounded much better than the life that waits for someone like me."

"You preferred death to life?"

"Since my father left us, i became the man of the house. My mother loved him so much that she died inside, she walks around the house in silence, staring at the void, sometimes i think she sees ghosts. I have to take care of me, her and the house, i work, i try to bring home food and everything. My mum has no more contact with other people, and i don't have time for people. I'm alone, and i don't see a future for me, or my mum", his voice was shaking: " I was tired, i'm tired of all that."
