As Serene explored the upscale RA shop, she couldn't help but be amazed by the luxurious collection that surrounded her. The fabrics were exquisite, and the designs were unlike anything she had ever seen. Serene's eyes sparkled with admiration as she browsed the racks, her fingers lightly grazing the fabrics.
She found herself drawn to several outfits, each one more stunning than the last. However, as she discreetly checked the price tags, she quickly realized that these were far beyond her budget. The prices were astronomical, and Serene couldn't justify spending such a large sum, even if Adrian had insisted.
With a heavy heart, Serene returned to where Adrian was seated. He appeared to be engrossed in his phone, but as he sensed her presence, he looked up, his eyebrows arching in curiosity when he noticed that Serene had returned empty-handed.
Adrian: (curious) "Are you done?"
Serene nodded, feeling somewhat defeated. Adrian continued, his voice gentle.
Adrian: "How many outfits did you pick?"
Serene sighed softly before replying, "I didn't choose any."
Adrian regarded her for a moment, a thoughtful expression on his face. Then, he called over the salesgirl who had been assisting Serene. He whispered something to her before standing up and taking Serene's hand.
Serene was momentarily confused, but before she could voice her questions, Adrian led her toward the payment counter. Serene tugged at his hand, her voice tinged with suspicion.
Serene: (whispering) "What did you say to the salesgirl, Adrian?"
Adrian gave her a sly, sarcastic smile and whispered in her ear, "I told her to bring every piece of clothing you touched or checked the price of."
Serene's cheeks flushed as Adrian's warm breath tickled her ear, and she could catch the scent of his cologne. Her heart raced as she realized what he had done. She had tried her best to prevent him from buying all those expensive items, but Adrian was a determined and stubborn man.
At the payment counter, Adrian confidently pulled out his golden card and began to pay for the heap of clothes that the salesgirl was bringing. Serene watched in a mix of disbelief and gratitude, torn between feeling overwhelmed by his generosity and wanting to protest his extravagant actions.
As the transaction was completed, Serene couldn't help but feel a swirl of emotions. She was touched by Adrian's desire to pamper her, but she also wondered how she would ever repay such a lavish gesture.
As they left the upscale store, Adrian continued to hold Serene's hand, their fingers intertwined in a comforting and intimate way. However, his serene expression shifted as he answered a call on his phone. Serene couldn't help but overhear snippets of the conversation.
Adrian: (on the phone) "Yes... No, that won't be a problem... I understand..."
Serene's curiosity was piqued, and she couldn't help but wonder who Adrian was speaking to and what the call was about. She discreetly glanced at him, trying to gauge his demeanor, but he seemed composed and collected.
When Adrian ended the call, he turned to Serene and offered a reassuring smile.
Adrian: (calmly) "Sorry about that, Serene. It was just some work-related matters that needed my attention."
Serene nodded in understanding, trusting Adrian's explanation. After all, he had been nothing but considerate and kind throughout their time together, and she had no reason to doubt his sincerity.
Serene: (grinning) "No problem at all, Adrian. I hope everything is okay with your work."
Adrian: (nodding) "Thank you, Serene. Everything is under control. Now, where would you like to go next?"
